I'm just curious as to what lens we all keep attached to the camera body ready for 'out the bag' shooting? I leave my 55-200mm lens on most of the time.

What do you ladies and gents do?

I usually keep my 70 - 200 on if I'm going out aiming for wildlife stuff, but if I'm going into the city then I'll usually prepare with the 24 - 70! Sometimes I forget to prepare at all and end up missing something

17-55 on the 200

3 to 8 on the 300.

Nikon 50mm 1.8 for me, although unless I'm shooting Motorsport that's the lens I use 100% of the time anyway.

Depends on which body!

D700 used to pretty much have a Tamron 28-75 or Nikkor 17-35 on, really depending on my mood.

My D60 generally has a Nikkor 18-70 DX or Tamron 17-50 on.

My S5 Pro generally has whatever isn't on the D60.

If I have more than one camera on me, I'll put a longer lens on one of them.

Just got a 100-400L this week , thinkin of leaving it on , loaded for Bear

i love my 10-20 for all over but when the 70-200 gets bought its going to be on there all the time

Depends... often it's the nifty as I'm currently in love with this and also because I only have an old camera bag and the 55-250 won't fit on in it. Father Christmas is going to get a Red Snapper SY618 for me so I can't buy one now which is driving me mad!

28-135 IS, as its the only one I currently have!

ps. looking for a 50mm 1.8 if anyone knows best place (used or new)

I always have two of my cameras read loaded as it were. The D2X is permanently hung on the 300 f2.8, and I have the AFS 17-55 2.8 on the D300.

If however, I leave the house without a bag, I'll stick the 18-200 VRII on the D300, which is ready for just about anything.

17-55 on the D300 and whatever else I think I might want on the S5 Pro unless the 300mm comes out in which case that generally goes on the D300 with the 17-55 on the S5Pro.

Hi just brought a Nikon 18 - 105 will be keeping this lens on, as it should do all subjects.

70-200 all the time at the moment:D
once i get the second body sorted it'll be Tamron 17-50 or Sigma 180 for macro.

I have my 70-300mm on when I leave the house. I figure if I see an opportunity to shoot a mega (a very rare bird to British shores (like that would ever happen, but still...)) but I have any other lens on, the mega could have flown off by the time I have changed lenses. The object of my shoot otherwise can wait while I change to a shorter length lens (landscapes and what not).

24-70 f/2.8 (sadly Sigma, not Canon)

If I've got my rucksack it's the 70-200 as leaving anything else mounted means rearranging the dividers.

I've I've got my shoulder back the 70-200 and camera don't fit in the bag mounted so it is usually the 17-40.

My 40D would normally have my 70-200mm on it!

2nd to that my Sigma 10-20mm

17-70mm on the 400D but once i get the 50D delivered it will be the 17-70 on the 50D and probably the 150mm on the 400D

sigma 10-20mm, infact i never take it off, ( 18-200mm vr in the post off Santa), so that might change in the new year

My 120-300 2.8 is on all the time, but if I go out and about not for wildlife, then it's the 10-20!

It used to be a 55-200mm, now, seeming as I've got myself a 50mm 1.8 I think thats gonna be stuck on for a while.

Wow, I've never had so many response to a thread :D Thanks for the replies. I was trying to see if I had it about right walking round with my 55-200 on rather than my 14-42 and it would seem most people favour a similar load-out. Thanks again!

Depends,

Daily use its the 24 - 105 L on the 40D and the 70 - 200 F4L on the 400D

Landscape, Sigma 10 - 20 on the 40D and the 24 - 105L on the 400D

Wildlife, Sigma 120 - 400 on the 40D and 70 - 200 on the 400D

28 - 135 Sigma on my 30D
10 - 20 Sigma on my 40D
