hi just tried using my Nikon 105 macro lens on d750 focused ok but wouldn't shoot then odd time it would, tried a few deferent lens on all works well so tried it on my d90 and once again wouldn't take photo any ideas what could of caused it thanks was working great last week
 
Dirty contacts or f stop ring not locked
 
thanks what would be the best way of cleaning the contacts would switch cleaner be ok

What were you trying to take pictures of , were you doing close ups ?
Is the camera set to only take pictures when in focus ?
The thing with close ups is that the slightest movement can put you out of focus and the camera won't fire
 
tried close ups and distance the lens seems to work on manual focus ok it happens more on a/f
