Macs

The Apple displays are known to be high quality

depends if you like glossy or not i guess (i mean even apple call the matte option on their MBP "anti glare") :p

but yes blimey this thread has stayed open long enough to post a pic of my PC set up..

scuse the crappy blackberry pics, my 1D is still in a pile of boxes after moving house lol

its a bit more cluttered than id like at the moment as we're still unpacking.. but who says PC setups have to be ugly or have cables everywhere?

Thought you said you had a tidy setup Neil!
j/k

Looks good, nice specs too. The DiNovo Edge is an awesome keyboard but I unfortunately caught the edge of a key whilst cleaning it and broke it, went down hill from there. :(
Must try and get hold of a tablet too, must be so much better than a mouse...

lol it will be tidy.. you should see the state of the room 180 degrees the other direction.. up to my neck in boxes :D hopefully it should look a bit nicer once i get a 2nd screen too.

yeah the dinovos are very nice, although incredibly expensive for a keyboard..

Nice Setup Neil, but as always my argument is you need the base unit as well as the monitor. You have the cupboard for it, but the Imac just sits on the side without the need to hide wires, because there aren't any.

no thats fine, just saying cables are easily managed and/or replaced with wireless devices with about 5 mins thought :)

Not read the rest of the thread....I bought my first iMac probably about a year ago, love it. My second in January ish (27"), and love it. Iphones and Ipad are in constant use....

I was a windows whore, and do absolutely love Windows 7. I think it's the best windows by far, seems fast, stable and secure. I enjoy it when I use it.....it is for me though, completely pointless now. The apple products are doing it for me, and I'm glad I became a convert. I still own a few PC's and a great laptop running W7....they get very little time though.

Gary.

I currently have a cheap webbook which is great for browsing the net but I'm looking to upgrade to something better that i can do some photo and video editing on and that doesn't crash everytime you do more than 2 things at once!!!

I've been looking at building myself a good desktop pc but have also been toying with the idea of getting a Mac (not sure which though).

I find the world of Mac a little baffling but love most things from apple...ipod, itunes, safari...I'm just wandering if it's worth spending the extra money for a mac...

What's the deal with them and what's so great about them...please enlighten me to the world of Mac good and bad?!

Thanks in advance.

Macs are great. Yes, you can build a powerful desktop for a lot less money, but then you will have to run Windows. :) Linux is nice though.
I use Mac, Windows and Linux but prefer to use my Mac.

The cheapest way to try Mac is to get a refurbished Mac mini or white Macbook.

I don't want to get into the Windows vs Mac war.

All I can say is that if you don't try a Mac then you will never know if you like them or not.

written by a dell employee?

"Apple make all of the parts of a Mac from the body to the OS which means there is very little communication error between both"

Good lord.
