motorbikes old/new...open thread??

One of the most beautiful looking bikes ever, bought it for about £250 (6 months from new) and years later (when the new baby arrived) couldn't afford tax insurance (also owning a car) and sold it for £90 :( and used a Honda C50 for work.

Had the top half of the tank sprayed a lovely blue.

Saw the below in Budleigh Salterton as we were heading up through the town towards the Otter walk, then heard it arrive at Otterton while we were having lunch, Grabbed a quick phone snap then chatted to the owner for a bit before we headed back down the river. Anything but a trailer queen, it gets ridden as often as possible. The drips underneath are water off the mudguards rather than oil!

It's great to see the old stuff used.

Among other mods, it has "modern" (comparatively - they're Amals!) carbs, Carillo rods and an electric foot (he's had 2 new hips recently so doesn't want to/can't use the kickstarter himself these days.) It does get shown but mainly to get him into shows for free! Enjoys having the cobwebs blown out and its legs stretched a little but sticks to 2 figures... mostly!
