Music Magpie

Yes
I saw an advert the other night for a website called musicmagpie. If you haven't, it's sort of like one of those phone recycling (mazuma mobile) type sites but instead you sell them your old CDs, DVDs, games etc.

I've heard mixed reviews about them. Not fussed about them offering peanuts as better in my D300 fund than in a box in the garage! But has anyone had any dealings with them?

I have 100's of CDs which I was going to send in about a year ago, but I read their T's&C's and it's pretty much "if the case/sleeve/disc isn't as new, you'll get nothing" - so didn't bother.

Yeah that is a little worrying. A lot if mine show the age they are. Some as old as DVD itself. :|

i sent a load of old cds in, got about 20p each.. they were in vgc though.

did take a chase to get the cheque through also, otherwise no problem.

Thats a shame man :( So cheap. Members should try and sell/trade them on here with each other. I love getting old albums to add to my itunes.

I've actually found that a job lot of 100 DVDs sells for more on eBay than off that website. Bah!

90% of the DVDs were valued at 30p!

That advert of a pretty model pulling out a cheque for £50 is very misleading, you probably need to sell thousands to get anywhere near that sort of cash, reminds me of all the Gold R Us adverts etc, = a few pounds & pennies.

It puts me off i have 100 CD's from the late 80's 90's.

i got 22 quid out of them for about 60 cds.

depends what it is though, youll still get naff all for job lots. i sold my entire collection of vinyl for peanuts on ebay.

I did the CEX online valuation and it didn't seem any better than music magpie. :/

I looked at a few similar sites recently - decided it seemed like a lot of faff for very little reward, all mine are now in a bag waiting for a charity to turn up - hopefully they can get a little more in their shops than the 20p off one of these websites.

I got rid of about 20 DVDs on there in the summer. Only got about £7 but at least they aren't cluttering up the place.

Right well if anyone has any cool CDs send me a list :D I will buy them, then when I'm done with them. I will take them to the charity shop myself haha.

Well done Neil 22 quid for 60 CD's, that's better but not ideal, there is quite a lot of sentimental value attatched to them i can imagine, but hey life has to move on !

I bet there would be takers at say a quid a disk. Try a list in the for sale section, I have lots to sell and bought a cheap scanner to save all the typing too. No way I'm selling at 30p it's an insult.
