As with anything new.... prepare. Get an idea of what you are going to shoot and take your time to ensure you have the kit, location and time to get it. But most of all enjoy it!

You don't need a 50mm prime lens, but I can see that you'd like to have one.

You'll be nervous and not to be would make you pretty abnormal, so don't worry about it. Most nerve fade away but not until you start getting images on the card.

Take a little time to think about what sort images would be prefect with the kit you have and try to steer towards those ideas.

I suspect that the model will know you're not a seasoned old hack and as long as work together to progress the ideas on the day, it will be great.

It call humour
We know that he has a camera what was asked was, after he said He like a 50mm, what lens has he got.
you see this if you read the thread
My apologies. I should have put a  or a :naughty: on my last post so that you saw the humour in it. I can see how you could easily get confused and think that the OP genuinely may have thought he wouldn't need a camera. :cuckoo:

Well i thought the no camera point was funny and a bit of my cup of tea whent up my nose.

Just enjoy yourself on the shoot, relax and plan ahead think what sort of shots you would like to acheive plan how to get them and if possible stick to it.

can't advise you on the shoot as I have never done one, however if it was me I would try and meet up with the person before hand (as it is a friend of a friend) and when they arrive I would just have a chat before even getting started on the photography until you are both relaxed

This may be the most useless advise ever but there you go!

pmsl..

i did a recent shhot for a friend and the nerves just dropped away during the shoot when you show her your screen and getting feed back

or take a laptop and load them on during the shoot so she can see what shes getting and if she doesn't like something she can tell you and she can adjust herself to what she does want.

this is what i did. hope this helps
