Ok, so I bought the Lee foundation kit (100mm) and big stopper with the UWA adaptor. Now I'm looking into getting a 0.6 ND and wondered if I go with a cheaper option like hightech for example is it a case of just buying a 100mm one to fit my holder?

I would say go with Lee, I have tried Hitech and their pro range is good but I think Lee seem better and why degrade a good image with a cheap filter.
FWIW, you may find the 0.9 more useful, I have both and occasionally stack them.
 
Ok guys I didn't want to start a debate, just wondered if say a 100mm high tech would fit.

Yep it should fit no problem.

I also have now issue with hitech filters. I had a pro stop IR 10 stopper & found it excellent.

Keeping an eye out for a Hitech reverse 0.9 grad at the mo!
