Unto the Lord belongs the Earth
And all that it contains
Except the Kyles and Western Isles
For they belong to MacBraynes

You'd have to be a good age to remember this, as the ferries went to the company that became Caledonian MacBraynes (Calmac) and the buses were hived off to Highland Omnibuses in 1969. Nikon F80, 35-105, Vista 400, May 16.

Well I thought a shot of modern life (I suppose it would be 20th and 21st century) with everything "thrown in".

Leamington Lift Bridge, Edinburgh Canal Basin...

CN1311PMXE Leamington Lift Bridge Vista.jpg

The roadway of this bridge is lifted up by 9 feet to allow canal boats to pass underneath. It has been closed for a year or so because of safety concerns, but I understand it has re-opened a month or so ago. This was taken in November 2013.
