But lenses are so nice to have
I've got two sitting in a cupboard with no body to put them on! Such a waste

Who would've guessed.

Yup - 56mm 1.2 and 16mm 1.4!Fooj?
How do people make the eye with so much contrast
What lens is that, Adam?
You're gonna say 58 aren't you?
I actually stopped it down to 2.2
That's on hell of a commitment to the causeThey have babies with blonde hair, blue eyes and light skin... No one said photography was easy
The sooner you move back to Fuji the better.
If I've known I might of had it looked at. Then again am really enjoying the Sony set up
I either need to save (which I'm not good at) or sell (which I don't want to) if I want the XPro2.
Think I'll just leave them where they are for a while until I get to play with one first
I bet you've owned more D750's...
As for lenses, I'm not that bad...
24-120mm F4
35mm F1.8
85mm F1.8
18-35mm F3.5-4.5
24-70mm F2.8
50mm F1.4
85mm F1.8
150-600mm C
70-200mm F2.8
50mm F1.8
Don't really see the issue myself!
Panamoz have been in touch and have told me to contact Nikon UK for a quote. Can't really be without a camera for the next few weeks as it's my daughters birthday so i'll have to wait until March to send it.
I do like the look of the Peak Design messenger bag but its not cheap and I don't know how it will take it's toll on my shoulder walking with it for 5+ hours at a time.
Any suggestions?
I'm kind of glad they've been held back. That way I can take time to think about it rather than impulse buy!Oh no, not you to, Im very tempted by the XP2 as my new second system. Hating the delays though.
I did. Only in 58 circles I committed a cardinal sin. I actually stopped it down to 2.2

One of the ones I posted last night was at F4, didn't realise, I'm ashamed of myself now for letting it slip so high
We have a decent collection of glass now and the only one I am struggling to find a use for is the 58mm it's barely been used since I got it for Christmas I think the wife has used it twice and she bought it for me. We have a few weddings next month so will hopefully get some use then otherwise its probably going to have to go. I think I am too ingrained into using a 35/85 combo now for anything else to work for me. Was more of a want than a need really but was an itch I wanted to scratch.
At the moment we have
Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR (Used occasionally for commercial work)
Nikon 24-70mm F/2.8 (Back up for 35mm, or the rare time we need something a little wider)
Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 VC (Back up for 85mm or for the odd time we need something longer)
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art (Go to lens for most things)
Nikon 50mm f/1.8G (No real value to sell on, rarely used apart from the odd time we head out with the kids etc.)
Nikon 58mm f/1.4G (Looking for reasons to use)
Nikon 85mm f/1.4G (Love this lens use it for everything)
Tamron 90mm Macro (Ring shots, the odd bit of commercial work)
We don't use the 16-35 much either but I need something wide for the odd commercial job we get for buildings etc. as sometimes the 24-70 just isn't wide enough. Probably gonna rejig some gear soon as just bored lol. Will probably move on our D4S & D800 on for another D810 which would leave us with 2 x D810, 2 x D750 so a bit more balanced. Might get a wider prime as well quite fancy trying the Siggy 24mm but again its just an itch I want to scratch rather than something we actually need. We do need to upgrade some of our studio stuff though so selling the D4S and D800 will help fund that. Might upgrade the Tarmon macro to the Nikon 105 as well.
My wife thinks I like bags more than she does which is worrying, however I cannot find the 'right' camera bag for me.
My dinky BeFree tripod arrived yesterday, and to my annoyance, my current bag (1 of 3) does not have a holder for the tripod on the outside (I am sure it did last time I looked lol).
I need a bag that will hold the following:
D750, 35mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, flash & the BeFree tripod. Oh and a 10'' tablet/laptop.
The bags I have are perfect for storing the above when the gear is at home or for a day out, but as soon as I need to travel for a few days I get caught out.

What slings/straps are people using? I have gone off my BR. Not quite figured out why though lol.

I know some of you are keen to have the Nikon 58 1.4 or dream about it, but I don't find the lens that interesting after seeing tons of images on the net. I guess it is the focal length that doesn't excite me much. I prefer either wider (35 and lower) or longer (85+) for mostly portrait work.
Works for me as I don't have any GAS for that lens
Amazed to see how many lenses some of you own. Would be interested in knowing how much use you get from people here who are not into making money from photography. Of course hobby and lust for lenses are pretty normal for all of us, but just wondering. There is no right or wrong reasoning.
I am considering to sell my 85 1.8G and only keep the 24-85 VR and the Tamron 70-200 2.8 (yes, decided to keep it) to cover the whole range I shoot. May pick up a wide fast prime later.

I think Id get on quite well with a 35/58, I get on well with a 35/50 but sometimes that little bit of extra could help, but I dont like 85 anymore, find it to long. Guess its aimed at me. lol.
I switch around a fair bit as required, only FLs I always have are 35 1.4 and 50 1.4.
Yeah, that's what I said and the same logic applies to most special lenses. To be honest, I don't think the 58 is a good lens for everyone and judging solely on you're Flickr and what you shoot, I'm not surprised you're not falling in love it is.
I like the 85mm for out and about in the forest or whatever, but I find it too long for weddings.
Do people tend to use lens profile correction in LR? Or leave the image with the barrel distortion? I seem to very rarely correct it, regardless of what lens I'm using.
For forest portraits etc I like 200mm @ 2.8 for the compression (If I decide to shoot long).
Same here mate, leave it as is, I like the different characteristics of my lenses.
Yup. Tilt shift lenses are really popular these days, but they're so specialised you've really got to be able to justify the spend to pick one up.Yeah, that's what I said and the same logic applies to most special lenses.
