All of mine are from Woburn. At times it can be good but it's very frustrating as you have to stay to the public footpaths which cross the estate. This often means lots of walking and the deer are often out of range in areas you can't access (Some visits ive never taken a photo if there aren't in range). Straying from the footpath isn't advisable as the gamekeepers will be over to have a word, and sometimes they just drive the deer away from you, especially around the Abbey. The rut can be good if you put in the hours and the walking. I've often done over 10 miles a day during the rut. My morning visits outside of the rut are usually easier as I only visit one of the areas meaning only about 2-3 miles.I was going to ask where you take your dear pics as I'm only about 30mins north of woburn
Woburn has about 7 species of deer.there are quite a few reds, fallow and sika. The Pierre Davids are special as at one point they were the only herd left in the world, and the Woburn herd have since been used to repopulate China where they orginate from. The Pierre davids click as they walk too, you can often hear them.
