Official Fuji X-Pro 2 thread

So em, this happened today.....
Is the bottle of single malt in the background significant ? Are you trying to justify your "rash" purchase on the grounds you were in the horrors of drink and knew not what you had done ?

Noticed it in the warehouse section yesterday morning but valued the roof over my head so I left it for you

Thanks!! As much as I'd like an XT2 I couldn't turn down the saving on another X-Pro 2, bargain!

Haha, no... bought that too!
Nice klit now, 2x X-Pro 2, 16mm, 23mm, 56mm

If only they had a 90mm with 20% off!

Just back from a walk trying out an old Helios 135 that I picked up last weekend. Realised when I was importing to LR that I had forgotten to change my camera settings after playing around the other day, so was shooting in jpeg with strong grain! Hard to tell how good the lens is with those settings.

Well, I'm down to one Fuji interchangeable lens camera now. I've just sold my X-T1, which wasn't getting used since I bought my X-Pro2. I had to choose, and the Pro won out hands-down. Still have the X100S, even though that has yet to see daylight this year! And I've decided NOT to go for the X-T2, despite its many new features. Truth is, I wouldn't use most of them, except the tilting screen, so I can't see the sense in shelling out more money. Looking forward to the 50mm f2 lens, though.

Loving the 56mm...

Link hasn't worked Chris.

I welcomed the newest family member this morning..

Might be time for some lens rationalisation?

Lovely shot Chris, almost looks like a tilt/shift was used. Would have looked slightly better with his left foot in shot.

Yes, you definitely need a few more lenses.

Thinking of parting with the 18,27 &10-24 and maybe pick up a Samyang 12mm.

12,16,23,35,56,90 with the 16-50 and 55-200 for when I want to zoooom. Think that would be more sensible than the hoard I have

Thanks Barry, on Flickr it does show his left foot, not sure why it doesn't here!

Not showing on Flickr either
but lets not forget I was nit-picking anyway :)

Could the 14mm not serve instead of the 12m and 16mm, or do you want a wide aperture? Must say I keep dithering about getting shut of my 10-24 but then I keep using it!

I'm prepared to cut back slightly on numbers but not that much!

I had the 14mm before but parted with it and my 8mm Samyang when I got the 10-24. I've wanted the 16mm for a while now as the image quality seems to be a match for the 23,56,90 and those are 4 I won't be parting with anytime soon (how many times have I made such a bold statement before?) The 18 & 27 will definitely be going at some point and I'll maybe hold on to the 10-24 for a while.

Sorted now! I'd shared from Instagram and it cut part of it for some reason!

Almost immediately on buying my original X-Pro 2 I put on the extended hand grip, something I haven't bought for the second one and I can't believe how much smaller it feels without!

I was out Friday night with the 16, 23 and 56 and I have to say I think that its possibly the 35mm that's missing for me rather than something longer, 56 is a cracking lens and even though on full frame I never got on with an 85mm I think this is going to be a firm favourite of mine!
Still want a 90mm though.....

Talking of grips.. the one which I bought from Ebay a while back and couldn't use has been sorted out. I received the new grip last week which fits perfectly.

However before it had arrived I had already modified the original one. The finger grip can be removed but it still left a bulge at the bottom, I cut this off and filed it down as best as I could and then finished with marker pen and clear nail varnish

I actually prefer this one and would have purchased an L-plate originally if I could have found one at a reasonable price. I expect the new one with hand grip will be in the classifieds soon.

@chrism_scotland I've just been looking at your photos of Munich on Flickr, I love the shots taken with the 23mm, how do you find it compared to the 16-55mm ?I love Munich, love the food and I reckon Edelstoff is one of the finest beers I've tasted. I'll have to get back there soon, possibly with a 23mm on my X Pro 2

Glad you like them Jim, IQ wise I do think the 23mm is a step-up and it was a joy to use on that trip as its just such a flexible focal length, also a helluva lot smaller and lighter than the 16-55!!

Hmm.... a 23mm and a trip to Munich, this photography malarky is costing me a small fortune
