Official Talk Leica thread

This was found in the garden... Had to be removed (completely) afterwards as it is just one caterpillar. but had been removing leaves on the plants...
Handheld, au-natural (in the garden) but I had to bend the plant back to get it into the light at times...
At first glance it could have been a dead leaf. Closer looks like lots of caterpillars joined by their butts. It was just the one though.

Leica M10 + novoflex + 105mm nikkor macro

I have no idea what it was or would have turned into...

Ooh that's an interesting one! Possibly a monkey slug moth (Phobetron hipparchia) although they're usually limited to South America.

Hi, a look at flaring ... --- (Leica M9 - VOIGTLÄNDER Apo-Lanthar 2/50)

Hi, another look at flaring ... --- (Leica M9 - VOIGTLÄNDER Apo-Lanthar 2/50(distance set at infinity))

One can see the curved line near the lower right corner, and there seems to be a slight magenta cast on the road to the right of the yellow sign.

At f 2 I had to reduce brightness in post, at f 8 I had to increase brightness, so the pics do not match exactly ...

Hi, a proper review of the VOIGTLÄNDER Apo-Lanthar 2/50 :

comparing it to the ZEISS Planar 2/50

(I do not do reviews or tests. I only show impressions of lenses I own and use.)

it reminded me of the old Hammer movies.

I lol'd. You saying that reminded me of the Kate Bush song... [off to YouTube]

Hi, trying out the lens with enhanced sharpness in DXO ... --- (Leica M9 - VOIGTLÄNDER Apo-Lanthar 2/50):

(In the SONY A7R2, contrast is at +1, sharpness at +3. Therefore, contrast is at +33, sharpness at +100 in DXO. Tomorrow I shall show the SONY performance.)

(The vignetting in f2 pics I could have corrected by using the Lens Correction App I have installed in my other A7R2. - The Apo-Lanthar seems to work well with a high res sensor,
better of course, with one having a thinner sensor stack, like the Leica SL2 ... The Lanthar being future-proof might lead to temptations such as the M10-R or its rumored
successor, the M11 with IS ... --- )

M11 being a 100mp with is to assist and yet still not that heavy ? ... ;) (well heavy on the bank account)

Hi, there is a lot of speculation - or wishful thinking - going on. - Higher resolution requires more powerful processing power inside. IS requires room, hence a new shutter. ---

We shall see, what the future brings ... ;)

(This is not proper and diligent testing, just trying out ... But it gives an idea what to expect in similar circumstances.)

Here's something that caught my eye whilst out on my state sanctioned daily permissible walk

Taken with the 240 and the summarit 35, which I'd half forgotten I had since getting the CV35 (and I only own 5 lens so to neglect one is pretty dumb), I'd forgotten how small and light it was, and a far nicer design than the CV35/1.7. (I think the CV offers more in the IQ department and it's a stop faster and 60+% cheaper)

Picture postcard. M10-P & Summicron 35mm.

Hasn’t been off the camera since I got it... not sure it’ll ever spend that much time off the camera :ROFLMAO:

Hi, somewhat out of character considering my nick I looked at Planar pics more closely to see how it behaves relative to the Lanthar. Disclaimer: no ceteris paribus ... ---

Hi, originally, I did not want to do comparisons, because these lead to endless discussions, after which most people are dissatisfied ... ---

Actually, there are no great differences at this quality level.

But, anyway ---
