rather hoping for the low seas myself....Not fierce, stubborn! This was going out from Feizor (Elaine's cafe).
See you on the high seas in 2 weeks!
Brilliant shotsI was really pleased to stumble upon some hares last week. Two of them ran right up to me, so I had to zoom right out on the 150-400mm and I was squatting, so it was something of a fitness test

.... I have been using my 150-40mm on Dragonflies for 4 years now and its Minimum Focal Distance makes it very practical. It also supports onboard camera Focus Stacking ~ Best done on a monopod.I have been looking forward to Dragonfly season since getting my 150-400 in Nov last year. I was hoping it would at least match the 300mm on this front. So far so good![]()

LARGE RED DAMSELFLY (Pyrrhosoma nymphula) by Robin Procter, on FlickrI have the same issue with a 14-42mm IIR kit lens. However, it will take photos up to 29mm, anything more than that and I get the error message and the camera needs to be restarted. Does that mean the ribbon cable likely has some damage at a point where it unfurls. I have looked at some videos of disassembly, it looks very intricate.
Emperor Moth, Isle of Man by Pete, on Flickr.... I have had lots of success focus stacking onboard camera on all E-M1X, OM-1, OM-1 mk2 bodies with the Big White 150-400mm and that also includes with either MC-14 or MC-20. The key to increasing the chances of success can be greatly helped by mounting on a monopod which I tend to mostly do with the Big White anyway because it's easier to maintain the same position. I haven't tried focus stacking with the Small White aka OM 50-200mm yet but the 40-150mm F/2.8 with MC's always was reliable.
Red-veined Darter, Isle of Man by Pete, on Flickr.... Superb photo!!Im happy with the 150-400 replacing my 300 for Dragonflies overall. I do feel like the 300 had the slight edge when it came to getting Dflies in flight but quality wise matching and the versatility of the zoom makes me pleased i took the risk.

Red Arrows, Isle of Man by Pete, on FlickrIt’s a WOW !! from me.Red arrows were over here yesterday so took the 150-400mm out and the zoom proved invaluable with them. I would have never been able to get the same shots with the old 300mm. I was zooming in and out all over the shop. This one is my favourite as they flew in front of a rainbow.

81mm x 50mm measured with Mitutoyo vernier scaleHas anyone got a 100-400 mk2 that they could please give me some measurements off ?
I need to know the flat measurement of the Acra Swiss plate.
I might have a go at a palm rest myself and have a good network of maker friends who can probably supply me with some small flat off cuts of wood or micata
I've seen someone on YouTube use one - I thought it was Mike Lane, but I can't see it on his channel.I think it was on this thread I saw this.
Someone had a wooden palm rest that fitted onto a tripod collar.
If it was can someone please point me towards the place they got it from.
It’s Espen Helland if it’s the one I’m thinking ofI've seen someone on YouTube use one - I thought it was Mike Lane, but I can't see it on his channel.

Thanks. That’s the one. Going to have a go my self if I can get a decent wood to try it with
Ooooo i wonder if i can 3d print that… interesting.
here's a starting point at leastOoooo i wonder if i can 3d print that… interesting.
You know you could open a can of worms when you're successful, check how many OM owners on site, expect order from 50% of them. Smileys not working for me.I have ordered up enough bits to have a go at at least two of these. One for the 40-150 & one for the 100-400.
2 1/4” tripod screws
Some American black walnut solid flooring samples. These are nice a flat to start with.
A bit of 2mm brass to bling them up and help pin some of the wood together
Will update as I progress
