online printing services

I'm looking for a professional online printing service that is reasonably priced although my primary criteria is the print quality. I want something where I can send my final print in adobe 1998 colourspace and have them print it without any correction.

A choice of papers would be nice and the option to have the print mounted is desirable but these two criteria are not essential.

Can anyone recommend a good print service that would suit me?

Yeah, I've heard photobox are very good and was tempted to give them a try I just wasn't sure where they lay on the consumer/professional scale.

Yep, Photobox.

I did a little trial of my own and sent 3 online print services the same images, and photobox won by a mile. Their printing was identical to the screen image, and clarity was spot on. The cropping options available at time of ordering was useful too. FWIW, a week or two later, DigitalPhoto mag [am I allowed to mention them? ] did a similar comparison test, using, IIRC, 10 different companies, and awarded Photobox the Gold Award.

Gice them a try with some sample shots and see what you think before sending the important stuff.

What are they like for enlargements? I'm looking at getting my photographs printed at A4/A3 size.

Photobox are good. They only work in sRGB (I think most do) and I think they do correct as I have had some images come out darker than previewed. They cost a bit more, but for special stuff I use www.peak-imaging.com.

I've also used them for slide and reversal print processing. Very happy with them. They also have colour profiles available for their machines if you search for them.

Photobox, got a 30x20 print not so long ago when they had a special offer, even from my D50 the quality was good.

The admin have got us a discount at Colab they are Pro Printers

have used both colab (but only for film deleloping and prints, never for digital files) and photobox, both are superb and you cant fault photobox for delivery and customer service, they sent me the wrong pictures and it was all sorted out over a 3minute telephone conversation and the replacements arrived the next morning. but ivce only had problems once in countless orders

Thread revived by a spammer (post deleted ;)) - love it

DSCL have an upload option for pro prints which are printed as sent
thier turn around time and price is unbeatable in my experience

I agree with this. After using Photobox for many years I recently decided to give DSCL a go as their prices are much lower for anything up to 18 x 12.
I used the DSCL pre-corrected (pro only) option where they are printed as sent.

I have just received my first order back and am delighted with the results, equally as good as Photobox IMO but much cheaper - a couple of examples being:
10 x 8 Photobox £1.22 DSCL £0.45
12 x 8 Photobox £1.29 DSCL £0.50

I am not knocking Photobox as I have had nothing but good experiences with them over the years but I shall certainly be using DSCL from now on.

I think I will try DSCL, I have used phoobox for years too, and on occasions, photos haven't been included in the order. And my images turn out a bit too dark!
