Yes he didNo you didn't.
Totally agree , so many shots posted on here would be better off on Facebook for friends and family to say "awesome shot dude you are a master "
But unless somebody tells them this, how are they going to learn or know ?
Did they tell you that they'd done that?I don't comment at all any more , the last few times I commented the op went to the hassle of looking me up to see my images to confirm weather I am qualified or not to comment , I really couldn't be bothered with that crap
I don't know the context in which this happened but I am often inclined to look at photos of people who comment, not with any malicious intent, just to get a feel of their work to give the comment context. Suppose I post a landscape and someone comments who's portfolio is entirely macro insect shots, I might be less inclined to take their advice than that from someone with a load of landscapes that I like.I don't comment at all any more , the last few times I commented the op went to the hassle of looking me up to see my images to confirm weather I am qualified or not to comment , I really couldn't be bothered with that crap

On the other hand, I do believe there is a strong tendency for genre specialists to offer advice that points people towards their particular style.
Within certain genres that tendency becomes self serving and most images within that forum area start to very much look the same.
I quite agree and again one of the ways of finding out is if someone commenting from a traditional, contemporary or eclectic point of view is to look at their work.On the other hand, I do believe there is a strong tendency for genre specialists to offer advice that points people towards their particular style.

I've done the same a few timesI have nothing to add except I have often typed out a response only to delete it instead of posting it.
I see this all the time on TP.
A new thread gets posted, laods of view but not a single comment ?
How hard is it to just pass a few sentences - be it positive or negative ...
I think we are all getting a little lazy and also saturated with quality, therefore unless its perfect, noone CBA to actually to comment ?
I See What You Did There.....
.
No I get that and agree to a point but would you then pass comment on the photos you viewed ?I don't know the context in which this happened but I am often inclined to look at photos of people who comment, not with any malicious intent, just to get a feel of their work to give the comment context. Thank you , yes on occasions their reply to my crit on their image was negative crit on my images that are sitting in my Flickr account lolDid they tell you that they'd done that?
Some great shots on your flikr page by the way, so I'd say you're well qualified to comment.
Probably not but I might click a like/fave button if I liked it.No I get that and agree to a point but would you then pass comment on the photos you viewed ?
You mean like the threads very first reply by "Retune".I was going to make a good joke by looking at this thread and not commenting. But i thought it might be too suttle to be appreciated...
No you didn't.
tl;dr
Second rule of the Facebook/forums, if there are more than ten replies to a post no one will read the thread before adding their reply. You mean like the threads very first reply by "Retune".
So you clearly didn't look at the thread then commented anyway ?
why do you look but not comment on a thread ?
I wil NOT comment when convinced the vibes
are not cool between the poster andIme.

Nah…
But how do you know before you ever comment?

I participate to this forum because, as I said, it is
a good source of inspiration. What I have to offer
in return is my experience, my opinions and my
appreciation.
I don't belong to any click, clan, or else and I do

means that I count very much on the intellectual

give me my lack of mastery.
OTH, I will help as much as I can anyone that is
opened to it.
I will NOT comment when convinced the vibes

I am talking about your grammar use...
can be hard not to make the poster feel badly if you can't spell.
[emoji23] annoyingly accurate. Facepalm (sorry... Facebook) is the best example and some people can repeat the previous post even though it is visible on their screen.Second rule of the Facebook/forums, if there are more than ten replies to a post no one will read the thread before adding their reply.
Personally, if I notice a thread is an orphan, left standing with no friends, then I'll try and comment. The thing is, we are all busy and don't often have the time to notice, and these orphans can be left behind and drop off the front page into the void. However, I will NOT comment on a thread where it's clear the OP does not respond to people who DO make the effort to comment on their thread, either if positive or negative. It's a two way street after all.
