Just a warning - I’m about to head over to UK Digital at Clitheroe to peruse a new G9 to replace the Oly E-M1ii, but don’t tell them on the Oly forum![]()
I've got to admit I've never noticed that in practice.and the evf can have a slight pin cushion effect.

Thanks for those tips. The Oly shutter is ultra-sensitive also. In fact, so was the Z6. Just looking at the body (I have yet to charge the battery) the switches will give me more than adequate controls without resorting to customisation, which is good.Shutter button is sensitive and the evf can have a slight pin cushion effect.
Try the medium view setting for the evf, set using v mode button on the side of evf housing.
If its not too big or heavy for you I don't think you will be keeping the E-M1 ii
12-100 works well with it although you only get the lens is, but i've never found it an issue

Yes, it took just over an hour to drive to Clitheroe, buy it, and drive back. Pity about the remote, but hey. Never use flash so that's not an issue. Got a wee LED panel for emergencies.Sounds like you got it then?
The three buttons near the most welcome top lcd come in very handy, but they are not programmable.
Wired shutter release from an Olympus won't work, Panasonic use a different plug configuration.
Same goes for the little flash that comes with some Olympus cameras, G9 doesn't have the fourth hotshoe contact.

It might be a difference between our eyesight.
Well, as it doesn't affect me I haven't noticed it.Probably not, its a well documented issue and more likely to be the design.
Join the club!I've got to admit I've never noticed that in practice.
Several years on, I'm still taken by how much more pleasant I find the G9's finder than that on any other camera - except the old Leica M3.
Mistletoe Sleeping by Stephen Lee, on FlickrOK, so it's the ubiquitous pet photo, but it's my first photo (apart from thr wife's big toe) with my new G9 and Oly 12-100.
What's the verdict thus far on the G9?
Nicest handling camera I have used. No need for complex button reconfiguration - suits me more or less out of the box. The E-M1ii is no more. What's the verdict thus far on the G9?

Oly is a great camera, but tedious to configure since there are so many functions to assign to random buttons. The G9 viewfinder is simply superb - as good as the Nikon Z6. The G9 is slightly heavier than the Oly. The G9 is very ergonomic - far better than Sony, and all the controls are in the right place (for me). Probably the oly is better for tracking but that doesn’t concern me.As I've never used an Oly. What's the difference and why is the Panny better?
Exactly and none of that messing about with leads and software updating firmware.Oly is a great camera, but tedious to configure since there are so many functions to assign to random buttons. Yes, I’ve installed 2.6.Exactly and none of that messing about with leads and software updating firmware.
Check that you have updated firmware, some substantial improvements came a little while back with v2.0
That's super image, super lens.
Did it very crudely. In LR clicked on 100% view and noted the boundaries. Then cropped to where I thought the boundaries were. That's super image, super lens.
BTW what do you regard as a 100% crop? Basically, half the original?
Happier stuff.
Firstly, there's no criticism of the seller here as the issue I found could be easily missed and me and the seller agreed on a price that I hope we're both happy with.
Glad you got it all sorted and are enjoying playing with it.
Apart from the camera in my opinion not worth buying.Hey guys,
I've seen this advertised locally, with no decent close up pics and no proper description other than copy&pasted blurb.
Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 Camera
M.Zuiko Digital ED 75–300mm F4.8–6.7 II
M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm F3.5-6.3
I'm not familiar with either of these lenses, and MPB don't currently have either in stock.
What would you say the three items are worth?
Thanks
Oh I like the GX9Apart from the camera in my opinion not worth buying.
As I suspected.Unless you want to keep them the lenses are not the best or that easy to shift.
Hmmm ... thanks tt.I guess without warranty all three for about £900 or thereabouts
You can buy the body new for around £500. As Rich says, the lenses will disappoint you, so best avoided.Hey guys,

Yeah I saw that. Not sure about the 14-140.Much better proposition in the classifieds, GX9 with a 14-140.
Feedback system works well and some large sums get exchanged without issue.Yeah I saw that. Not sure about the 14-140.
Not sure about buying blind though TP either ... as much as I love it, otherwise.
As I said, you can get a brand-new body for £500. There are also deals around with kit lenses included, which gives the security of a brand-new camera from a UK dealer…I like my GX9 too, just not with those lenses.
