I am applying for Fine Art Photography at Glasgow School of Art and in need of a kick ass personal statement.

Any tips or phrases you think would sound great relating to photography.

I have only previously studied Photography at HND level an nearing the end of my second year.

Any help appreciated

What kind of think have you got in mind Lucy, a one liner or an epic?

Any examples of others?
 
Even just a few phrases of how i can compare my love of photography to something, a one liner or even a structure of how to write it...

for example

How I got into photography?
What i learned over the last two years?
What i hope to learn over the next few year?

etc...
 
You don't have to draw comparisons for your love of photography. Talk about your passion for it - what got you started, areas you've enjoyed exploring, where you've struggled but how it's just added to your love and drive for the subject(if this is indeed the case). You've applied for a fine arts degree, speak about what has drawn you to the fine art area of the subject, what you plan to learn, explore and achieve. Make it concise but interesting and genuine. Speak about an inspirational photographer that's motivated you. Speak about why you think Glasgow will be the best learning environment for you. I remember writing mine, took about 4 drafts and many hours! Best of luck with it!
