Pic(s) you took today - an open thread

a couple more "portraits" from the back garden in S Africa today - really overcast and rain, (so f5.6 @ ISO1100), and we are at the top of the hill so the background can be just sky

Today's activities, yesterday I came across a m42 35mm Optomax lens , A manual old film lens ( god knows where this came from , I cannot remember buying it at any point) So this was as much a test of that as well as documenting the jobs of the day. I wish there was not such a thing as crop factor as I really like using these old lenses but generally take most of my photos as wide angle shots.


I had decided to move the shed from one side of the garden to the other giving us more room on the little patio area, It was a bit like building Stonehenge as many levers and rollers were used to move it.

The wacko woman who lived here before paid someone to put the wood at the bottom of the fence to stop her cat getting out of the garden !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cat must of had three legs as ours goes to sleep balanced on top of the fence. We used to have a rat issue as the lady next door feeds the birds letting the seed spread all over the floor ( I do as well but keep it tidy) I could never keep up with them using the airgun but the cat being a 24/7 pest control officer has cured it !

Looking at what I had taken out of the shed to move it I can only think its like Doctor Who's Tardis ( Bigger on the inside)

Mrs Badger came out to give her instructions on what was to be done, I ignored this and carried on as before. She is very good at instructions !

It looks like quite a decent lens.
 
You have to have a go Nev , I never got to try 110 in it's day , But I do really like it after trying it a few years ago, I used Lomography's Tiger film with some really good results adapting processing time to suite the Point and press's one aperture one shutter speed setting's . Go on you know you want to ! Your image makes me realize just how small The Pentax's are .

Went to RSPB Bempton Cliffs today to see the short eared owl(s), which I did but no useable photos were taken, instead I had a go with these fantastic birds, the last one was coming in to land on the cliff about 10ft below where I was standing, looking through the camera as it approached I thought it was going to take my head off!

Latest addition Chinese Elm.
It has potential & needs a little tidying, to get rid of the "stragglers" but for now I'll let it rest after going through the postal system ( twice :rolleyes:)

Thanks Roger.
Sadly I lost some in last years harsh winter, I gave them a full year to see if they would recover sadly not.
So now I'll be "stocking up" again :)
