Hi guys,

Looks like I am heading to pontneddfechan waterfalls with a few mates in a couple of weeks, really looking forward to it!

Just wondering who has been and do you have any advice or special locations / routes around the waterfalls away from the public?

Any pictures to wet my appetite would be welcomed too

Cheers,

Del

Do a search on Flickr would be what I'd do.

Hi dale, i live a couple of miles away, and it is always busy every weekend. If you can go on a weekday it will be much quieter.

Been there a number of times, and as Phil said, it's always busy on weekends. Weekdays are your best days.

Wear good hiking boots, and don't be worried about getting a bit wet, some of the best viewpoints will require you to tread some water; and don't be afraid to wander off known paths

As for photo-equipment, a tripod and polariser will come in very handy.

Have a wonderful day

I also don't live far from these (about 20 mins away) theres a few falls on the rivers here worth a shot.
Note it can be a bit muddy in places and if you go on the rocks these can be seriously slippery, so care is advised, but the paths are in reasonable condition.
Theres a half decent pub (the Angel) which did nice reasonable priced food last time I was in there (about a year back mind) theres also cafes and a bakery in Glyn Neath itseft and a MacDonalds just outsde Glyn Neath.

If you do go on a weekend, the valleys east of the dinas rock (about a mile east of the angel, theres a car park there too) are a lot quiter

I'm pretty certain someone did a 'knol' for these waterfalls, but cant access knol from work.

and search for wales waterfalls photography as a starter

Excellent info guys, just what I was after guys, thanks!

I thought it may be a popular place, hopefully its not too busy if we head of the track a little bit ;)

Edit: the google knol site doesn't seem to be loading up, is it just my computer or is the whole site down?

Here's a blog about a walk I helped organise a few weeks ago.
Blog is a mixture of my piccies and other peoples piccies.

They are popular - rightly so!
But are quieter than the same attractions would be in any other part of the UK.
