A decent picture please of your camera, or some from a few angles, and a quick description of its history!

Would be cool to get a nice catalogue going!

First up for me:

Canon Canonet
Awesome little camera, got it free from my manager at work because he was trying to get rid of it!

Canon AE-1 Program
Bought it off here from another member and it arrived today!

Mamiya 645
Unfortunately this beauty is only passing through. Borrowed it from a friend and have only put a few rolls through it - I have no way of printing them and can't afford to get someone to scan them.

and finally

Lubitel 2
I got this a while back, on the 'Travelling 6x6' thread. I wanted a go at medium format, and then this thread popped up, so KevM (i believe?) sent this out to 12 lucky winners!

And for any of you who say "oh but I can't take photos like that!"

here's my set up:

Had my 40d and 24-60 set up on my 190xb flat on the floor, aperture was set to f/8 and I'm not sure on shutter speed

The Hasselblad is 32 years old and came with the original back and lens which was a bonus. The seals were knackered (unsurprisingly) so it leaked like a sieve. The shutter was also sticky so I treated her to a right good fettle and belive it or not the 32 year old still sychs at 1/500 and fires my pocketwizards. How's that for compatability? :)

NOT my pic but the one on ebay when I bought this one. :) Came with the 80mm and since added a wide angle and a 150mm portrait lens. Still takes a damn fine pic (when I get it right).

This was my Dad's old Nikkormat complete with nice 28mm lens

It has just accompanied me on a trip to Cuba and to be honest beat my D80 hands down, or maybe it's just me :)

And this I picked up on the 'bay for a small amount of cash, I know it's not one of the more cherished Rolleis but I'm warming to it.

Here's 2 of my older cameras, the only ones I've ever photographed. The first was originally my fathers, an Ensign 12-20 with non coupled rangefinder and Ross Xpress lens. I last put film through it a few years ago.

The second image is of my Toyo 45A 5x5 folding field camera. I also have for it 65mm, 90mm, 135mm, 150mm and 210mm lenses. I also have a Tele Xenar 360mm f5.5 but have never changed the lens board to match.

The current collection

1 - Kodak Duoflex - no idea if it works, havent got film to try through it

2 - my beloved Kodak Retinette 1b, with case, still in perfect working order.

3 - and without

3638461975_798158d8f4_o.jpg

4 - a bit more modern, cheap and cheerful Pentax P30

5 - and finally, the newest of all these, sort of retro-digital and the only one definately not working anymore, it is an ex camera, a deseased being... Fuji S304, from my pre-nikon days. Pretty well battered to death by too many school trips, but was brilliant when it did work :D

I have no kit envy, I have no kit envy, I have no kit envy..... :coat:

Only got a photo of one of my old cameras, probably should get some of the others

The lovely Rolleicord - cant remember which model, and have no idea where it came from. My dad has a camera bag full of old bodies that he has gathered over the years, this was in there and works a treat :)

Love that!

Send them my way! I love old cameras!

Here's my Minolta X-300

The sound of the shutter is to die for :D

and with the Tamron 80-210mm :)

I hope you weren't trying to wipe your bum with that tamron grendel!

Also is it me or is that a 80-210 f/1.4?

I definitely think we should get some microphones in to professionally record the shutter release sounds...
Or should we just start our own camera porn site?

My 2nd SLR had to sell the Zenith E :crying: and do my paper round for a year to buy it about 25years ago!

Another year on the paper round bought the Mitsuki 135mm!

Great thread - brought back memories!

 is that really f1.4? and how does it perform?

yep, she's an f1.4 80-200 :D

to be honest I've only used the lens a couple of times and she's an odd beast. Doesn't feel anything like today's lenses. I got some wonderful shots of some swans with it though. I'll have to scan them and post 'em up :)

My Zenit 11 that I picked up from the local market. In excellent condition, I don't use it as often as it deserves

The Agfa Isolette I used to own until I sold it for food money. Cool little camera but a pain to focus and use the lens wide open.

My favourite camera that I own, a Seagull 4A TLR. This is an old model with Chinese nameplate, said to be more reliable than the modern ones. Indeed, I have had no problems with it and few complaints - other than the lens could be sharper and the ground glass is dim.

Pentax K1000...the camera my grandad gave me about 20 years ago!!! He was an aerial photographer in the spotter planes in WWII and taught me allot of what I know... I understood stuff by using this camera at 10 that users of modern digitals at that age could never understand... you had to to use it effectively! But I stupidly sold it with his blessing to by my mz5n... this is truely the biggest regret of my life... as it means more now sentimentally than I could have ever imagined... no chance of ever getting it back now....

The camera I wanted 30 years ago but couldn't afford. Finally bought it 18 months ago and have only run 2 rolls of film through it. Must try harder! :bonk:
