Much prefer Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix to the default XP. It all "just works" and I'm replying to you in Firefox wirelessly.
Very painless
Very painless
One of the main selling features and what made the NC1O so popular is it's 7 hour battery life.
I very much doubt that Samsung have changed the battery spec, it's more than likely a mistake on the Argos website.
I can confirm the Argos version is a 4 hour battery....why didn't I get it from pc world or currys.....I dunno...
So Crocky is correct, you're all doing well to get a price match on the Argos C10..
Has anyone tried the online cashback form? does'nt work for me, bombs out with some sort of xml error after hitting submit...?
typing this on my nc-10 again, I had it on stand-by, hit the on-switch when I got in, and Ubuntu was up and running from Suspend almost immediately![]()

Andy, mine did the same twice, I am just going to post mine off.
Blimey, I really am surprised that Samsung have changed the battery on the NC10.
Argos have the 7 hour battery version listed @ £279
I was able to do it online OK this evening.

Got mine from Currys last Sat, price matched Argos, plus 10% difference, now claiming the £20 cashback, brought mine down to £217
When you sent your cashback via the internet has anybody received a confirmation of receipt
ps, this one's for my daughter, got mine sometime earlier this year, paid £315 then, these are great machines
thanks puddleduck, yes I got the same, just expected an automated email confirmation, give it a week or so then I might send the form by post![]()
Flash drive, external harddrive, download it direct from the net.

I popped into PC World tonight and asked if they'd price match Argos. Things were looking promising with the assistant until the manager came out and said that because of the £20 cash back, basically the prices were the same. :bang:
I tried to see if he would budge at all on price but he was having none of it so I walked out ... and straight next door into Currys.
The Curry's manager was more than happy to match the Argos price, and what's more he cocked the 10% of the difference off and gave me an extra £3 off rather than £2 so I ended up paying £246.99
Now all I;ve got to do is fill in the form I picked up in PC World for the £20 cashback (which wasn't advertised in Currys) and claim it as it's valid for all DSG shops.![]()
Just wondering if anyone has received their cashback yet?.
The NC10 has a very impressive data recovery tool that runs independently from Windows.
When my missus somehow managed to corrupt the registry, I hadn't back up her data for a while and she needed some stuff.
I presumed the usual, remove the HDD and connect it to a desktop so I could retrieve the data.
No need, the Samsung recovery tool recognises USB HDD's and the back up process was simple to use.
It's a great bit of kit for the money and I am also tempted to buy one now the price has dropped.
Kevin do you have the link for the cashback offer? Need to get mine filled out.
