Should I keep my nifty fifty?

Yes
I have just bought a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 for my Sony A350, and now I'm unsure whether it's worth keeping my Sony 50mm f/1.8 prime.

Yes it's over a stop faster, but for sharpness it needs to be stopped down to at least f/4 to match the Tamron.

I mean, I'd like to keep both. The 50mm is a lovely lens. But I just don't see me using it much now that I have the Tamron zoom. I very rarely shoot below f/4 in real life.

Hmmm any advice?

I have the canon nifty fifty, and for the price i doubt its worth getting rid of.
if i am a bit unsure of what lens to take it is usualy the one i go with.

I got a 17-55 2.8 and the nifty-fifty went the following week. TBH I hardly used it anyway. It's a one trick pony that lens IMHO on a crop camera - shallow DoF portraits. That's it

whats it worth to keep vs whats it worth sold

whichever one is bigger wins

I LOVE my f1.4 on ff, was handy for v low light conditions on 50d

Why not give yourself three months with it in the bag, you'll know at the end what to do.
Love my 50mm by the way.

I agree with Trevor. If you have only just upgraded, keep it for a few months and see if it gets any use. You should be able to get the same used price in 3 months as now so unless you need the money, it makes sense
