Hey guys :)

Have processed the first of my Highlands Trip photos. Having the collective knowledge of the group available to me has really helped me learn a few new things. Kudos to Alexisonfire for teaching me how best to use Filters.

I hope you enjoy!! :)

Holy moly Gary.... these are simply outstanding. I am in awe!

Gary - these defy words - they are simply fantastic - beautiful - awe inspiring!

No1 is just a little too strong for my tastes but I think the rest are really outstanding.
No4 and No9 I would happily hang on the wall of a gallery.

And by the way, don't you EVER let me stay at home again. :D

there are no words to describe how jealous of you i am right now, fantastic, stunning amazing work!

Some lovely images Gary, well gutted I was unable to attend!

love them, especially 6

Extremely good, I think the first is surperb, they are all very good though.

Truely stunning! as AliB says, these are above the standard required for the wall at home...

Wow, i have been looking forward to these... i love them all, no.1 is quite strong, but i love the silhouettes of the mountains.... (y)(y)

Im off to Skye next month for 4 nights and cannot wait.... :woot:

Chris.

Yep, I am seriously going off you Gary!! ;) :D

Even on my iPhone, these look stunning mate - will have a proper look later!

Glad you all had a great time!

Awesome photographs!

Kudos to Alexisonfire for teaching me how best to use Filters.

Any chance you can post some pointers on using filters properly? I'm interested, and never used a filter before!

Thanks RAS. It's easy though, you can do it too.

Next time Ed!!!

love them, especially 6

Cheers Mart77 :)

Simply amazing! The first one is the best to me, love the intense red cast and the shines on the rock in the foreground. In all the photos the light is simply perfect!

That was the plan I guess, we had always speculated that all night shooting would be possible around the summer solstice. We were right!!! I swear, without ANY exageration - I managed on average, 3 hours sleep per night***.

Extremely good, I think the first is surperb, they are all very good though.

Thanks Hyster.

Ta :) I might print one or two of these.

these are fantastic, love the colours in them!

what filters were you using gary?

I had the Lee SOFT Filter pack (1, 2 and 3 stop). The Lee HARD Filter pack (Again, 1, 2 and 3 stop). I also had my B&W ND 10 stop. On some of the photos I combined the 3 stop hard, 3 stop soft, and 10 stop - up to 16 stops. Crazy but fun :D

Dude,

Thanks again for coming - it was awesome to catch up with you, and great to have quality company. Next time you are up for a suburbian burger, we will go shoot some more :D

I will try and put some thoughts together for you, but my knowledge is pretty limited. I will post a reply later for you.

Gary.

*** I will get Woodsy and Blapto to bang heads and work out the EXACT average sleep we all had. Both as a group, and individually, in ascending and descending order....I will record them work it out, AWESOME :D

check the EXIF data - could you hold a D3 steady for 30 seconds?

All stunning, but I love No 1... definitely eye-catching!

Stunning set - No 9 for me is the best though (y)

Stunning work Gary.
I'm glad the trip was all that you wanted (and more perhaps!)
Well done (y)

Seconded.

Until the next one, that is :)

Great work Gary, as always.

Now nervously waiting for my slides to come back.

Gonna try and dev up some monos for this afternoon so you may see them tonight.

Thanks matey :D

Looking forward to seeing your shots. Have you decided whether or not you are going to get a D700? Have you got a copy of the photo you took yet using Welly's?

Gary.

I'm going to send it to him now :)

Cheers for the reminder!

Fantastic shots, btw gary!

Not fair.

I think there should definately have been an embargo on posting until the LFers got their slides back :D

Seriously nice stuff Gary, only a couple more shots to go through now then

Going to have a trawl through everyone elses shots as well and sit nervously waiting for mine to come back.

I reckon 9 and 10 are the best of the bunch (y)

Outstanding set Gary, I think I'll let my Jack Dykinga quote say it all :)
