Sony RX100

Just my opinion, Jeff. I like the images it produces but I have little desire to pick it up.

I'll keep it as its great for travelling, and I have the filter kit for it too
 
Taking mine to Disney land Paris tomorrow leaving the d750 at home.
Time to put some effort into using this little beast of a camera.
 
I'm hoping the mk5 means a good price decrease on the mk3, it would still be a lot of camera for me (in P&S terms).

Yes - Each new model gets progressively more expensive.

At least the prices of the existing range drop when a new version is introduced, although it looks like the original (Mk 1) version has been discontinued.
 
Perhaps a silly question but is there *really* any need for that mega fps in a compact ? Did I read 24 for 150 shots ? 315 focus points or the like

I way I read Clear Image Zoom it's a special type of digital zoom developed by Sony. It doesn't just magnify the image, it works on an algorithm based on the analysis of the images and adds pixel through interpolation.

It may well be as crop, but is far superior to the normal digital zoom, and allow the mk2 to go to 200mm on a Large .jpg with minimal loss in quailty
 
Question for all you RX100 users. I'm just wondering if and what tripods people are using. I bought a Manfrotto Pixi for going away with which helped me get some really nice shots but I feel a normal one would be of use when I need the camera set higher up. They are probably overkill for a small camera like this and I'm guessing most people shoot handheld.

Considering this camera as my first camera purchase.
Not sure which version is the best value for money but it seems iv and v are out if my price range anyway but in terms of features how big of a dofference between 1,2,3 as they all hold their price it seems


do you have any video footage I can see, I can see plenty of awesome photos and some of football. I would be videoing some football, and would be good to see video quality of this if there is anyone with any?

Any photos of fireworks?

Looks a great camera and defienatly considering it as my purchase.

Never had this problem with my Sony RX100IV.

I do get this with an old Casio P&S and the reason there is that the battery has drained down completely so the camera loses the time.

Seems to occur more randomly after the camera has been off for a few days but the battery is always at least 50% charged.....
