your right about lightning that layer needs a bit of work

It's miles better than anything I could do but I find the clarity of the bottom of the image to be unconvincing, I just feel that in such a storm the buildings would not be so clear, sorry.

Here is a Link to creating this kind of effect it is an action set which you add to Photoshop it is great fun to use for a couple of dollars and cuts out a lot time and labour
