Im a keen amateur and would love to visit the Loop this year. I only have basic photography skills and starter equipment. Nikon D3200 and NIKON 300mm prime lens would be my weapon of choice.
Would this kit produce sharp images of the fast jets coming through? I know I wont be in the same league as some of the pro's on here, but I would hate to make the long journey, with B&B and come away with fuzzy shots.

Glass before body and the 300 prime is excellent.you'll be ok

Thanks guys. I'm hoping to plan some days off work and make the long long journey from NE England some time in the coming months. Also gonna double it up with Surf Snowdonia. Surfing there, not togging.

Got to agree with the above, - Glass before the body.
The 300mm is a great focal length.
I've used 300mm at mid and top of the Bwlch, as well as both sides of Cad.
Go, enjoy and post your work...
(Hope you get some traffic through on your visit).

I'd agree with the above posts, the 300mm will do you fine. As a fellow Teessider I've made the round-trip in a day a few times, it's pretty tiring but doable.

Thanks John. I would be happy to share costs and driving if you are planning a trip?

What would ya'll say would be the optimum config if it was available?
