Well, little sign of any heat wave here and more annoyingly there's complete cloud cover and flat light so even flower shots in the garden are out. Oh well.
Absolutely p***ing it down here.

_SA10051 by Simon Wootton, on FlickrAny idea how high the ceiling will be? I’ve tended to use bounce flash for things like this where I can, and most of the time TTL works well for me. Of course for the actual boxing flash is a no no.I'm shooting a boxing awards event tomorrow so brushing up on my use of flash. Really liking the jpegs out of camera on the A1 and the new firmware does seem to have made eye focus a bit snappier.

It is probably about 11 or 12 feet. I'll go with a medium iso and bounce off the ceiling which is white. It is a boxing awards night so no fightingAny idea how high the ceiling will be? Nice, Italy is beautiful, I really want to do a tour around Italy.

These videos are a bit bitter sweet for me. They're interesting but it also reminds me how bad my 'eye' is for photography. Mine always end up like your stereotypical holiday snap rather than something more interesting and much better composed like this.

Well I have to say this new mocro four thirds has a grip on me, and at the moment I am actually thinking of leaving Sony for it now, so quite a bit of thinking to do now.
Well, you have to do what's right for you.
What is it about the new kit that's so appealing?
A the mo I can't see myself completely leaving MFT but I also can't see it replacing my A7 and that's even without using old manual primes or even new manual primes on the Sony.
That's exactly how I feel watching his videos.Nice, Italy is beautiful, I really want to do a tour around Italy.

May well be interested, lens and price dependant.I am going to try my best to use two systems together, so like I have said I will not leave Sony just yet but the A7c will be going with a Samyang lens.
In terms of the technical stuff it’s a very good lens, not used it enough in the real world to get a true representation of the rendering. Was supposed to be doing a session day today but it got cancelled due to the weather, I was hoping to try or out then.Any opinion on the Sony 35mm f1.8 yet snerkler?
I'm getting used to mine. Next on the list to give a long road test to may be the 55mm f1.8.

One thing with my Panasonic RF style MFT cameras is that the EVF's are really quite small and quite poor, they're useable, but you have to look directly though the centre and if you're just a bit off the whole thing looks as if the dioptre needs adjusting.
I nearly bought a G100 as I've read that it has a lovely EVF but the lack of a second control wheel killed it for me. I did have a G7 and that did have a lovely EVF but apart from that I hated it, shutter shock and for me a very uncomfortable grip, I hated that camera.
As I am so comfortable I now only use the back screen for all my shots, but have done for quite a while now even with the A7 III as I just nail the shots better.
I can’t see the screen properly in bright sunlight, plus it’s very unbalanced like this with the heavy lensesAs I am so comfortable I now only use the back screen for all my shots, but have done for quite a while now even with the A7 III as I just nail the shots better.

You think "why is he talking a picture of that" then it turns out brilliant.
Love his photography. I sometimes struggle to sit through a whole vlog though.
Thanking you.Just had a nosey at your website, some great shots on there![]()

Savoca in Sicily is beautifulItaly is fabulous, but I prefer the rural parts and small mountain villages to the area he just walked through. We spent a week in the Marche region where I photographed a friend's house in exchange for the time there, and the nearest town of Comunanza, despite being scruffy on the main road through, had some amazing nooks and crannies in the old quarter. I really felt like I hadn't done the area justice at the time, but my dearly beloved got fed up with me stopping to take pictures when I wasn't 'working'.
