Then why not be happy with what you've got and stop whinging in this thread. The 1dx mk2 is not 6k and it has far more lenses in the tele side to justify its main usage
The a7r2 is crap for studio and fast action shots! Then why not be happy with what you've got and stop whinging in this thread.
My God, the kit isn't even out yet and I'm sure there's an active Fuji thread you could be reading and posting in

specs and performances dont lie.Horses for courses.

Now im not after a hasselblad medium format studio camera that can shoot 16fps like a 1dx mk2 does but all i want is something that can shoot well in the studio without gimping the AF ability and also have a bandwidth writing to the memory card greater then 5 pics in a row....
there is a lot to be improved on the a7r2 that an A9 could do .
A99 mk2 is the way to g but its A-Mount.
They can easily fix my studio problems with the camera but not for the buffer rateShame a fw update or 2 won't be done to fix the af.
Must admit I only did a few home studio shoots with the 55, baits 25 and 35 art and didn't notice a problem.
The buffer fills quick even if you don't shoot in burst mode. My models tend to move every 1.5 seconds and I can get maybe 10 frames then it starts buffering! It takes longer then 1.5 seconds to transfer a single image into the card it seems.I think we've had this conversation before but how often do you require 20 shots back to back writing to buffer in the studio? Even the 5 you're getting now seems to be not unreasonable? I've always shot family/child portraits in studio so nobody stays still but I don't remember a time I've had to machine gun? Also, are you shooting uncompressed Raw?
Edit - unless Sony include an embedded SSD I don't see how "unlimited buffer" could be anything more than SAR wishful thinking.
Uncompressed rawOk, are you shooting with uncompressed Raw or just standard Raw format?
Uncompressed raw
Won't I lose IQ?Do you not think that might be the issue then? Sony released the A7 with compressed Raw files and only updated the firmware to allow uncompressed after pressure and online moaning from pixel-peepers and sites like DPreview. Realistically, uncompressed Raw mean double-sized files that need to be transferred across the same internal bus in the camera for little gain in the real world.
Try shooting normal Raw and see what difference that makes.
You should only notice the difference between compressed and non-compressed RAW's when pushing the files for extreme DR recovery etc. I always used non-compressed as I wanted the best possible files out of the camera regardless of the little difference.Won't I lose IQ?
Yea im not after unlimited buffer rate but something that's like the 5d4 or fuji as a sayYou should only notice the difference between compressed and non-compressed RAW's when pushing the files for extreme DR recovery etc. I always used non-compressed as I wanted the best possible files out of the camera regardless of the little difference.
Sony will resolve the responsiveness and speeds of the writing/buffer in the next A7 models, just like the Sony A99II and A6500 bodies.... the fps/buffer and image review times are more than most will need and that's using SD cards.
My Fuji XT-2 11fps / 30 shots RAW buffer is epic, doubt most will actually need more than that apart from the spec chasers or extreme sports professionals?
Won't I lose IQ?
Get a Fuji XT-2 with lovely Fujinon lenses..... job done......Yea im not after unlimited buffer rate but something that's like the 5d4 or fuji as a say

Question.........
Fuji XT-2 costs £1399 approx, Sony A7RII costs £2999 approx...... will you be charging and making more money from your clients if you shoot with the more expensive setup? Will the client even notice editing / down sampled images from both side by side?
Don't temp me...Get a Fuji XT-2 with lovely Fujinon lenses..... job done......

Oh yes....... I still have some GAS with Fuji.... its just a cheaper alternative when GAS attack kicks inThere's nothing worse than a reformed GAS addict. I'm sure I used to say the same thing to you while you were carrying around £47,000 in Sony kit until you saw the light ;0)
Fuji are bringing out a Pro X-Trans APS-C body in the future..... above the current XT and X-Pro lens a gazillion frames per second?Don't temp me...
Don't temp me...
I would shoot compressed RAW to save space but I am not sure if it will give you much gains in buffer write speeds.Just switch back to compressed Raw and see what difference it makes to the performance versus the actual difference in output.
Probably not.Won't I lose IQ?
I used K&F adaptors too, they are fine and good value.Just to jump in - I use the K&F adaptors, as they're all "dumb" anyway (no communication with the lens) there's not much difference AFAIK...

The FD adaptor is pretty slim (compared to others like M42 or Olympus).
Happy with mine
