The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I’ve got the 35 & 55 EVO. I’ll be checking this out.
I they are all ment to be very good,I’ve been really impressed with Viltrox so far.
I nearly picked up the 35 last week but was put of by quite a few comments I’d seen about a green colour cast.

I already have a 28-75 and 20mm so doubt I will get the 28, a 24 I would have considered.
The 14 also looks good. I just hope they bring some longer glass out maybe a 135/2 evo

Viltrox evo 28 1.8 coming soon

I have the Sony 28mm f2 but I've been disappointed by performance across the frame and into the corners and I can't unsee it and an aperture ring would be nice. If this Viltrox does come I'll watch and read the reviews and might give one a try. The Sony lens is quite compact though and I do like that. I think the thing my little lens collection is most missing is a nice compact wide aperture 28mm better than the Sony f2.

I’ve posted a few samples on here with the 35. Not noticed any colour cast.

If they keep with the trend it will be the same size as the 35/55/85 as those all share the same body/size.

I haven't seen any of them. The first step will be for me to watch the reviews and if they're ok the second will be to try and judge the size and weight. I guess it'll be a bit too big though, shame.

Toby, please don't use cheap products on a decent camera (you wouldn't put some far eastern ditchfinder specials on your car/bike, would you?), it deserves better. Just get some Visible Dust Cleaning fluid and swabs (the corner swabs can be good for stubborn mnarks). I've cleaned hundreds of sensors (lots of industrial cameras for work which can be in really sh**ty environments, along with my own 'hobby' cameras) and stand by the Visible Dust products, I've been using them for 15+ years without any issues, and I've always been able to remove marks (and yes sometimes it takes several go's). The only thing I couldn't remove was a crack in the sensor glass on my X-T2, it had a hard imapct, and initially nothing showed, then over the next few weeks a mark appeared that was crack (bit like a car windscreen). Amazingly Fuji repaired it FOC even though it was 8 days out of warranty. I did explain to them what had happened!!!
Well I've tried the max strength visible dust cleaning kit and they're not shifting :( The more I look at them the more they look like they're underneath the front layer, which I know sounds impossible but that's what it looks like

We're starting to see some unusual focal length lenses, I'm starting to think the market is flooded for the 'standard' focal lengths and so manufacturers are starting to come up with something new.

I'm still waiting for a 16-50mm no heavier than the 20-70mm ;)

In this case I think they probably picked a focal length that gave them the best chance of making a fast-ish pancake lens with decent enough performance.

Didn't tamron make a 17-50mm?

Ahh yes, they did,. I remember now being quite excited at the announcement however optical performance was said to be mediocre at best. Although 17mm would suffice, I would prefer 16mm I'd also prefer to have an aperture ring.

Saw a review regarding this on the z series( Viltrox Reddit)
they said while the image quality it good, centre sharpness anyway.
But it has zero flare resistance and the af is slow /sluggish and in their words “grindy” in af-c

It keeps getting compared to the chip ( Viltrox 28/4.5) performance wise.
