Yes
The picture was made with the Canon 5D mark II and a 400mm-lens. It consists of 1.665 full format pictures with 21.4 megapixel, which was recorded by a photo-robot in 172 minutes. The converting of 102 GB raw data by a computer with a main memory cache of 48 GB and 16 processors took 94 hours. With a resolution of 297.500 x 87.500 pixel (26 gigapixel) the picture is the largest in the world.:gag:

My computer will not open it its says it cannot open that many pixels

That is just totally AWESOME!

I was beginning to think my Duo core Intel computer was getting a bit slow since I upgraded to the 450D from the 350D but then I read this bit:

" The converting of 102 GB raw data by a computer with a main memory cache of 48 GB and 16 processors took 94 hours."

And the resolution is also AWESOME!

Now I am lusting after a 5D and some L glass.

Seen this before its very impressive.

Ok so it's a lot of shots pasted together, what's the big deal

Try shooting and stitching a moderate amount of images into one and you will soon figure what the big deal is

This image is excellent, but still has issues - look at the shadows on the roof on the left. They are stepped, because of the timing between the shots

Are you sure? If you're referring to what I think you are then why is it that no other shadows share that feature? Looks more like the shape of the building to me...

it opened..and looked fine

glad the horizon was straight...

It looked like a typical stitched panoramic to begin with.

Then I zoomed in.....

That is seriously good.

SpikeK6 - My computer will not open it its says it cannot open that many pixels

I get an error too but try clicking 'BACK' in your browser - works for me.
It seems that the website first opens the page that you want to see and then fails opening more/another auto page. So, when you clik BACK you get the overview picture, as required.

Amazing picture.

O.K. I give up. Where is Waldo?
