Being a X-T10 user. I have to do this mostly by hand, but I take as many as are needed to cover the dynamic range. That would seldom be nine, possibly when shooting an interior on a bright day, but it's hard to make such a wide DR look right anyway. It's usually three, occasionally more. I did a lot more exposure bracketing back in the day when my CCD sensor had limited DR.Question for X-T2 users. When bracketing, we can take 9 shots....question is, do you take all nine or fewer? What gap d'you leave between exposures in terms of stops?
As for the gap between them, one stop is nicer for smooth blending, but more work. Two stops is the most I would go, but is often workable. I occasionally try the LR HDR function to see what it will do, but mostly blend exposures by hand using luminosity masks for greater control. If you use dedicated HDR software for exposure blending, you may need different source materials for best results.
