Despite disliking Rooney with a passion that was a great tackle and credit to Sagna for not doing the dying swan and the ref for not immediately going into yellow card mode

Its going to be a long time since I eve get any respect for rooney after his efforts with his elbow at wigan. Good tackle here or not the guy has lost a lot of respect from a lot of people.
We see deliberate elbows, wreckless tackles and managers defending the indefensible week in week out so I can't really see why this incident or indeed Fergie's subsequent comments are so much of a big deal to people.
that particular incident was a lot worse than most deliberate elbows, most are thrown in a jump for a ball and rarely with that kind of malice. he went in with the sole purpose of cracking his jaw.
Not sneaky you mean![]()
you would think that rhis semi is pretty muc the final, i mean you never know, but the winner will be the favourite to win the whole thing
The winner of City V United will be the favourites but like you say - you never know. Just look at Birmingham against Arsenal.
At least this way around either Stoke or Bolton are going to the FA Cup final which is good.
I'm guessing you wanted Bolton to go through to the Semi Final to detract from their league campaign as they're right behind you. Come to think of it we play Bolton next in the league so there's another dilema for you![]()
Arsenal really are having a bad time - film on BBC2 earlier called Goal II - they even managed to lose a fictional champions league final!
I dont get the whole knock Arsenal as they are bottling it stuff you see in the papers. Unlucky v Bham, outplayed by Barca (and the ref) granted, but everyone seems to give van der Saar MOM from the FA cup and little to choose between. So on another day we could have won the League Cup and in Semis of FA Cup. Still need to get a couple of defs and a decent striker granted.
Why not? Your second in the league, but you've not won anything in a while. Surely the owners want to win something and the nature of football says that the manager is the first thing to change.
I wouldn't be surprised if you don't win anything this season for Arsene to go over the summer.
Firstly, I'm not an Arsenal fan.
But he will not get sacked, I guarantee it. And if I knew you I would bet you more than £10...
He is involved in much more than just being a manager at Arsenal - he has brought financial stability to the club - baring in mind they moved to the Emirates, has a say in players wages, scouting etc.
He's been there since 1996 - I seriously think the only way he would not be at the club is if he decides to leave by his own accord...

It is a very long time that he has had to not win a trophy......
As I said before, if you takeout the 2 new managers this season, there are only 4 that have not won a trophy/promotion more recently than Wenger.
Fun weekend in London with semi-finals.
Bolton v Stoke and City v united all heading down to Euston on the same trains, nice!! Also that weekend is Arsenal v Liverpool on Sunday and the London Marathon. Trains, hotels and the tube chocka.
Brilliant scheduling there :bonk:
It's a complete joke isn't it.
I can't recall which year it was but one FA Cup Semi Final (involving a London club I think) was moved away from Wembley because the powers that be said it would be impossible to manage it on the same day as the Marathon.
Now there's a nice new Wembley to fund they seem to think they can manage with City, United and Liverpool.:bonk:
Have to wait till the start of next season to see if he goes before then.....
Wembley is a joke and cost far too much. Enjoyed my visits to the Millenium Stadium in the early 2000's, all the facilities on the doorstep that you need (scran and boozers) and the train station only 400 yards away.
Also only cost £121m to build. Bargain![]()
utd through to quarters and another tick to my plan for the season

I love your mindset - but it must be a tortured existence
Anyway - As I feared - that was a bit nervy - spending nearly all the game one goal to the good.
Hernandez (I know I keep going on about him) is going from strength to strength and seems to be getting the best out of Rooney in a more creative role.
Having Valencia back is like a new signing and he's made an impact in his two run outs since returning from injury and Park coming back is going to be another boost for us.
Defensively it's all a bit up in the air with O'Shea and Rafael picking up injuries. Evans coming back is better than O'shea I guess but getting Vidic and Ferdinand back for the home stretch will be key.
The Bayern v Inter match looked a belter. One of them had to crash out and it looked for all the money in the world that in wwas going to be Inter before they came back to snatch it.
5 match touchline ban for meester ferguson. At least he's nearer the bar![]()
So it's United V City at Wembley now in the Semi Final
Another fun filled day![]()

it's good to see him get some just deserts
