The great rift in the Soul nebula (IC1871)

That's an amazing capture and when looking again tonight it looks like a dog looking towards left from middle with one paw in frame - bottom left, really strange as seen this last night and thought wow but never seen the resemblance to a dog until tonight

I've not seen a dog in there Adam.... yet :D
I wasn't going to... but OK :D

Its a Pterodactyl (y)
Beak and tongue for most, Crest upper most, edge of wing bottom left,
And its carrying its baby on its back, well shoulder anyway. :D

Well I have just spent 10 minutes staring at the image it is amazing I love it thank you for sharing.

I will have a look at your website later too

This is a very small part of the Soul nebula taken with a telescope at 1.7m focal length. This is located in the constellation of Cassiopeai and is thought to be about 7500 light years from us.

This is taken with narrowband filters that only allow a very small bandwidth of light pass through them. Then in PS they are assigned to the various channels and there you go..... the starter of the Astro image!!

I hope that you like it!!
