I've done a couple of walks through the grounds of Blenheim palace over the Christmas break, and there's one place where we passed signs warning about the presence of pheasants (beware - pheasants). Haha, man eating pheasants etc.

This morning I was doing the walk from Combe East to Bladon bridge and a woman ran past me, rather slowly. A pheasant began following her, flapping up around her, and was then joined by another bird. She lifted her arms up, presumably to defend her face, and then I heard her scream. She carried on running, and they eventually gave up. Later on I did see a number of males facing each other down, but I remained un-attacked.
