I find a 15” screen good enoug to work from, but there’s no denying a bigger screen is better. Could you buy a larger screen and use your MBP through it?Is it worth switching from a 13" Macbook Pro to a 15”? I just find I'm having to hide all the bars to get a descent amount of screen to work with.

Never used the thunderbolt, I’m lucky enough to have the 5k iMac as well as my MBP. A lot of people recommend Dell screens, but I can’t remember which models. That's another option I hadn't considered. Any recommendations on a good monitor. My brother's HP 24" 1080 just doesn't cut it compared with the smaller display on my MacBook.
I've always fancied an Apple thunderbolt display but I don't think they make then anymore. Are they any good?
I love Thunderbolt Displays. I have one at each location I use the MBP.
I got my 2nd one off eBay. You're right, they don't make them any more.

Hi,Can I ask how much you got yours for and whether you had it delivered or collected it?
Dell U2412M should be available for =<£200 from Aria.co.uk, and works well with a Macbook (has a displayport connector). The res is 1920 X 1200, and those extra 120PX at the bottom are really useful. There are also more recent versions.
Are you sure the extra rows of pixels aren’t at the top?Dell U2412M should be available for =<£200 from Aria.co.uk, and works well with a Macbook (has a displayport connector). The res is 1920 X 1200, and those extra 120PX at the bottom are really useful. There are also more recent versions.
Depends what you mean by how they look. The latest MBP and the 5k iMac are the best screens I’ve worked on (after calibration), both make images look gorgeous imo. Working on a screen that size does make processing easier as you don’t have to keep zooming in to see the details for sharpening and detailed brushing etc. As the screen is roughly 15mp (iirc) you’re almost at 1:1 anyway.Does the 5k display make a big difference to how images look when working on them in lightroom?
I've been using a 24" Dell Ultrasharp with a 1920×1200 res screen and there's no way the pixels are too big. It has a wide enough colour gamut to deliver 96% AdobeRGB, and works really well with my 15" MBP.
Am thinking when it comes to upgrading my MBP I'll get a 13" one and a second Dell monitor, as long as the new MBP will allow me to plug two monitors in at once.
Have you got a link to that? I can't find it...Just picked up a Dell U2415 from Amazon, it was one of their Warehouse deals, some sort of Easter sale on and extra 20% off at checkout.
Worked out at just over 180 quid, they had a U2414 for a bit less, but fancied the bit extra resolution.

I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a second hand 4k monitor from a reputable manufacturer I think. Not sure I can afford anything more than £200 at the moment. I have my eyes on a Asus PB287Q. Would you guys go for the 4K Asus or lesser resolution Dell if you had a budget of £200
I looked at that Asus, pretty sure it was a fair bit more than 200 quid, in fact almost double.
Think you might struggle to get a used one in decent nick for £200, looks like a nice monitor though.
How about a Dell U2414H, can get a new one for under the 200 mark, that's what I was looking at until this Warehouse deal came up
Good to know. Was it advertised as marked, or soiled in any way?Just got the Dell from Amazon, looks new to me and can't see any obvious marks.
Reckon it might have just been a return that couldn't be sold as new.

Quite how you would soil a monitor is another question...
