A quick question...

I may have a rather exclusive opportunity to visit the Strata building that's nearing completion at Elephant & Castle, that's probably become quite familiar to most people in south London over the last year or so.

A guided tour as a guest of the developers.

I'm a bit of an architecture enthusiast - I did a degree Architecture in many years ago. Strata is one of the more interesting projects going on in London at the moment - it is the tallest residential building in the city - and on a more personal note I used to do some freelance work for the architects, so I'm very interested in it. It's also only about a ten minute bike ride from where I work, which is damn convenient.

However, one of the conditions set out is that 'Any photos you publish or print can be used freely by our hosts', which leaves things a little vague from the strictly legal point of view and rather too close to the rights grab terms of many competitions that I wouldn't care to enter.

I'm tempted to say 'sod it', go for the experience and hang the consequences. What do you reckon?

This is an opportunity of a lifetime, I'd do it just for the experience. I also look forward to seeing some of the images on here.

Seems fair to me. You get a guided tour, hopefully access to some great locations for shots and they may want to use your images. Both parties win, especially if you ask for credit and use for your portfolio. They may remember you and use you again.

You can't take the photo if you weren't there... first rule of photo-journalism.

Maybe that means you have to wear slippers or a stupid tabbard and not ever print the photos anywhere, but you either go for it or you don't.
