Can anyone shed some light on the basics of using a flash?
I use a Canon 50D & a Jessops 360AFDC
The problem Im trying to get my head around is
While trying to take an evening shot of the family in Disney this year, I was trying to light the family while leaving the Disney Castle correctly exposed.
My understanding, is the flash should be producing enough light to match the metered light coming from the castle in the background? Is this correct?
Ive been using TTL setting, however this seems to only meter the family & correctly exposes them, which I assume is doing the job as advertised.
Ive learnt so much over the last few weeks on holiday & shot most of my images in manual during the evening light & firework displays.
All help & pointers greatly appreciated.
