Hi,could you recommend a descent walkaround lens for my 450D,
thanks,john .
thanks,john .
Do you have a budget ?
sorry budget about £550/£650,
I have a 10-22mm an old 17-85mm which is what I'm looking to replace really,
I'm still learning hope that makes sense replacing the the 17-85mm,
thanks
the 17-55mm could be what I'm after,I'll look at some of the reviews and pricing, thanks for your help.Do you need a faster lens then the 17-85mm, i.e. f2.8 or would something like the 15-85mm f3.5-5.6 be ok. Better lens than the 17-85mm

lots of people rave about the tamron 17-50, constant 2.8 apeture and a exellent price
I have just upgraded from my 17-85 on a 40D to a 24-105L. Its a great walkround lens and just about available if you stretch your budget a bit!!
i don't realy want to use an L lens on my 450D,mainly because the lens is more suited to FF,
No reason why you shouldn't use an "L" lens on a crop sensor. I use them on both a 1.3 and 1.6 crop. You will not go wrong with a 24-105 F4 L
