A pleasant surpriseA few years ago I ordered an item while I was in NW Scotland. As the order asked for any special instructions, I put, "If out, leave by front door"
I wasn't in when it arrived and found a note in the letter box. I was initially a bit annoyed as I thought I'd have to re-arrange a delivery but found the delivery driver had written on the note.
It said, "I have put your parcel in the shed because it was raining and thought it might get damaged". Not only was this great service but to do it the driver had to go through a gate, around the back of the house and up about seven steps to get to the shed.

Sometimes it's the little things that bring the biggest smile.
The Queen arrived at Balmoral Castle for a stay and was welcomed by a Guard of Honour the Scottish Balaklava Company 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Also part of the Guard was the Regiment's mascot the Shetland Pony.....Lance Corporal Cruachan 1V

Queen officially welcomed to Balmoral by Guard of Honour
The monarch took part in the welcome ceremony in her role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.www.harrowtimes.co.uk
Sir Nils does a better job of inspecting the guard than most visiting dignitaries do!A bit like the Brigadier Sir Nils Olav III who is the Colonel in Chief(and mascot) of the Norwegian King' Guard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nils_Olav andView: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hq-6wUWffkA

Remarkable price!Picked up a delonghi dedica ec685m espresso machine last week for £30.
Bought a non pressurised basket for it and Just fitted a rancilio silva wand.
Now I can make proper coffee with nice creamy milk rather than a ton of foam....will keep me happy until I can get a sage barista bean to cup machine![]()

Both! Not at the same time though.Tea!

I'll assume you're still smiling. We're off to watch Sheffield Wednesday. First fully open proper game since the madness started. Wife is like a giddy kid. She loves the Owls.
Hope we're still smiling on our return.
Good choice to change the basket. Pressurised baskets - the “decepticons” of the coffee making world......Picked up a delonghi dedica ec685m espresso machine last week for £30.

Depends what type of beans you’re using - most of the stuff I have is straight without milk but a few of the Mocha bean varieties I get just beg for steamed milk to bring out the chocolate flavoursRemarkable price!
Though I wouldn’t bother if you are going to muck up your coffee putting milk in it![]()

Showing your age Chris...What cheered me up today, the party next door playing music quite loud from about 14:30.
I could have sworn it was the same bloody track that lasted 6.5 hours
What actually CMUT is that it finally ran out of steam at around 21.00.

Even I'd get fed up with something like "Comfortably numb" on repeat after 6 hours.Showing your age Chris...![]()

Years ago we went to Salou and there was a bar not far from our appt that constantly played Cher's "I believe" until 3 in the morning.Even I'd get fed up with something like "Comfortably numb" on repeat after 6 hours.
Let alone something with the same beat with indecipherable lyrics
It's a bit like banging your head against a brick wall, ( see what I did there?) Great when you (it) stops...

Now when it comes on we break into a cold sweat...![]()

Many years ago, someone crashed into the back of our car. When we got home, I spent over an hour on the phone to the insurance company, most of it was on hold which was just one song over and over again. It was Lifted by The Lighthouse family. I rather liked the song before that, can't listen to it now!Years ago we went to Salou and there was a bar not far from our appt that constantly played Cher's "I believe" until 3 in the morning.
We were demented. Now when it comes on we break into a cold sweat...![]()
It seems they are up now, time for "Thuderstruck" on repeat. Vol 10I have a very vague (can't think why...) recollection of going to sleep while a Hawkwind album was playing. No idea how long the central groove was repeating itself.
Now you're talking!time for "Thuderstruck" on repeat. Vol 10
Sorry what? can't hear a thing hereNow you're talking!

They'll be having a lie-in ...Tomorrow morning is another early start for us so I might take the camera up tonight in the hope that they'll be out and about again (it's not a rare sighting!). Must remember to take the 1,4x telecon off the back of the lens and ramp up the ISO in readiness - I very much doubt that I'd remember to do so in the morning and I'd wonder why everything was a bit blurry! Might even dig out the X-H1 and use its IBIS alongside the OIS in the 100-400. The foxes do stop dashing about every now and again!
I won't! I'll be up anyway so I'll have a look for 'em. I sit on the side of the bed so can see out of the window down towards the grass and have reasonable peripheral vision, especially in low light so have a good chance of spotting them if they're out, especially if they're as active as they were this morning. Camera set up ready to grab if they do show up.
