Website critique

Superb, really like it a lot..would add a favicon and a custom 404 page but that's just me :p ;)

Clean layout, well defined, I know what you photograph, I know about you and I know how to contact you.

I may heed those design hints! ;)

fine, once you get past the homepage - personally I don't see the point of a homepage that doesn't have much except an enter button on it. Glad to see you put some keywords and description in there :)

It looks good and certainly has some great images on it. I am no expert but some of the code needs a bit of work. You have 2 titles on the index page and they could do with a bit of beefing up for SEO purposes.

Run some of the pages hvae errors in which may require attention. Run them through http://validator.w3.org/ and see what it says.

I have been working on my site for a couple of days and realise the amount of effort you must have put in. It looks so easy when you start building but once you get down to the details it takes a long time.

I like it. All pages work fine for me using Internet Explorer 8. I am also undecided about the intro / title page that you have for the homepage - yours looks good but in general I think they are a bit old thesedays, some days I like them and others I don't but that's more me than your webste! General layout and feel is super and a good starting point for my website I need to get sorted over the coming months - hopefully you'll see that as a compliment and not a cheek!

Excellent site, the only thing is that it was bigger than my 1024x768 screen.

Personal opinion, dump the landing page and go straight in, add a load of text about you, the services you offer, where you are located etc. Without this you will struggle to pop up on search engines.

Change the ......gallery041...... urls to descriptive ones.

eg. ........landscape_photography....

Google likes that.

just realised, your first page in after the home page, mentions portraits.
your "about" page doesnt.

it looks to me like your mainly aiming at corporate/news work (my impresion) ,
but had you thought about some from of basic pricing on your site for portrait work.
if your aiming at the public, they like to have ballpark figures before they will contact you.
"if they dont put prices on, they must be expensive" is a phrase we,ve heard from clients about other togs sites.
they dont tend to contact them at all.

just my thoughts.

i like the general layout , and love the horsey pic on the home page.

maybe a couple of pics on the !about " page?

Had a little more time to look through and here are my thoughts. No offence meant btw.

Nice branding, you have a nice logo, maybe a little work on the photography line, as sits between, either shrink it to fit under Kevin, or Expand to fit under both words.

The dark grey border doesn't work, as the site doesn't stretch to fit the browser size. Also a little big on size , should maybe reduce it to fit a 1024x768 as this is still the most common size people will view it on.

Content could do with a look through. Some images IMHO don't fit in and some are weak, remember one weak photo ruins a whole portfolio. Example of this is live music in 3 categories and also several shots from one shoot, again in your people portfolio.

Sorry for the harshness, but hopefully you put it up for honest crit, which is what I have given.

You have live music shots in 3 different sections, news, portraits and PR and Corporate, gives a mixed message.

About and contact should be put into one page, as contact is very bland and boring. Just a little work and they could be one good page rather than 2 poor pages.
