Yes
In a thread yesterday, Gary was saying that although he's doing wedding and portrait work, his real passion is landscape.

I love taking photographs of people, weddings, gigs and portraits especially. I love looking at nice landscape images, and do enjoy taking them, but my real passion is people photography!

What's yours?

Dave

People photography all day long. :)

I'd love to be good at Macro but I find it's an art in itself....same as Landscape shots. :|

I love nature and that's where I predominantly shoot but I'd love to get more into photographing people and strobism

I'm still very much a rank amateur and i'm having a go at loads of different stuff to try and learn basic techniques , but if i could choose a discipline it would be absract landscape kinda stuff , sort of unusual angles and takes of ordinary views , hope this makes sense

My passion is to photo things i can't see.....

I like being out IN the landscape and struggle to photograph them well. I find translating what I see to the image difficult but I still enjoy it.

My passion is people. Every day I see life as images and if I could only capture a small part of what I see around me every day I would be a very wealthy person. (and I don't mean in monetary terms)

Horses!! I've been competing all my life and I love going out getting pictures of various disciplines.
Away from that its birdies and landscapes (badly) plus I'm now looking at other sports (not football or cricket though  ).
I have done some people photography but it does not make me think wow, and as for weddings :gag: it would have to be a very good reason before you would catch me doing one of those!!

Sums me up.

Also love taking sport shots, Rugby, Karting, Climbing, anything in fact that shows people living in the moment.

Once upon a time my passion was architecture, the crumbling abandoned sort but then I realised there was far more to this photography m'larky. So now I'm just enjoying learning to use my camera in different ways. I think I'm developing a preference for people though.

Hi Steve thought I would join in and see what it was all about!

It's a nice place... usually.. errrrm sometimes? Oh well occasionally, Okay every once in a while..
In fact I remember one night a few months ago... For a few minutes it was actually quite pleasant place to be ....

Oh b****r, that was when they had a few minutes silence for Michael jackson....

Just love taking photos landscape, macro, wildlife etc ..... love doing portrait/model at the mo but like to keep trying sumting different???

My passion is motorsport, photography or otherwise. I love the sport and I love photographing it, so I'm happy whenever I'm at a track, camera in hand or not. Check my Flickr for a huge variety of motorsport shots.

Dog mainly, but domestic animals at a 'stretch' I just love it, and I really cannot 'make' much else a photo I'm proud of. I get such a buzz.

Live music and sports photography are my passion but least likely to pay enough to cover my expenses let alone pay me! Portraits and a couple of weddings have paid the most cash but i can't say i love doing either though i do love the cash at the end of it!

People, candids and even portraits. Where it really come together is in weddings because it is an environment where people are expected to be photographed and where they are having fun and I can shoot all day long.

I can appreciate other areas like landscape or cityscape, I even know the composition and colours to make one look nice but I am not passionate about them and it does show in my photos.

What i really do not have the slightest of interest in is motorsport or aviation or anything like that. Where things can be repeated and repeated, in a way macro too as the challenge to me doesn't seem as great? You can a lot of tries in these fields. A F1 can will (unless he crash) a track for 60 laps, there is always another bug that looks the same...etc.

Wildlife, particularly macro shots of insects etc. I get a real kick out of photographing stuff I haven't seen before.

My passion is aerial photography from my very special machine. A poor year though so not getting as much opportunity as I would like.

I also take sports images - mostly mountain biking as my son is a racer - however there is nothing quite like a day out in the country with camera, tripod, filters, etc. Most therapeutic!

Finally people photography is the one I would like to master. I use opportunities such as family gatherings and am happy with results but would love to set up a studio to explore this art more fully.

But the passion lies with flying - first and last!

Cars...specifically: big, thumping V8s that no-one really needs these days...
And driving them fast around inappropriately twisty roads...

Got to get that back end out or there's no point...:D

Amen to that! Few things in life satisfy me as much as a wet roundabout . I've got a 530 sport touring (all 1.7 tons of it) which is a joy to throw around on wet roads. It's actually easier to control oversteer than my e30 track toy - though that's probably down to a lack of talent on my part!

Just remember to turn off the TC...I forgot to on a recent drive and completely bolloxed-up my favourite hairpins...:suspect:
The Mustang doesn't have a very...'sophisticated' TC at the best of times anyway...lol

It's not often the road is sufficiently clear to really 'hoon'-it, so when it's empty, I like to make the most of it...

Landscapes, first and foremost. I did get into street and candids in a big way, and I still have a burning desire for them, but not a patch on Landscapes. I do *want* to find a passion for people photography, and I know it will come when I am doing more of it.

Gary.

mine is people photography as well but my fav is to find a cool location and shoot them there. the whole process of finding somewhere cool and then in particular when im looking through the lens and i just know this is going to be THE shot.

computer games 3d artist (my job)

but deffo wildlife + landscape very close 2nd! motorsport(rallys) 3rd

I originally got in to football photography but mainly because I like shooting people and spur of the moment events that can't be planned. I've since done a few model shoots and really enjoyed them. I wouldn't say it is my passion as such but certainly my prefered area of photography these days.
