Which is the best free platform to use as a Portfolio/Website?

Do you have a website and/or portfolio and if where do u host it?

Hi all, I have a flickr account and have recently signed up to 500px but now I've decided I want to get my photos out there a bit more. I have thought about a blog or a website and have also seen sites which will host portfolios, But dont know which to go for. I dont want to pay for a .com name or anything so I thought I'd ask your advice. Any tips to setting up a showcase of my work would be great!

Wordpress is an excellent tool that can be used either to develop a site on a .com domain name or you can include a blog through a wordpress.com account. There are lots of themes to choose from and some great portfolio ones out there for photographers. I use it for developing a whole host of sites and it's well worth a look as there are some great portfolio themes available out there
 
Setting up a website won't get you found.


Participate in groups, on here, on Flickr etc. etc. etc. will get you noticed. Take part in photo competitions and see if you can get photos in magazines etc.
