These birds are from all over and brought in by citizens who
found them in distress, misery, sometimes agony.
Today again, I was shooting (part of my "no fee" social projects)
the local Wildlife Rescue and Helmut (the operator in charge) was
very happy to show and tell me about his protégés.

This lovely young female was found laying in a close by field by a farmer.
Helmut pulled out the little plastic bag she choked on trying to swallow a mouse.
There since two days and doing much better she was released this morning.
She decided to stay for the day —maybe more— but she's free to go!
2
This one attracted the attention of a old lady walking her dog near the park about a mount ago.
The Labrador came very close to the stork and stayed until the lady arrived and alerted Helmut
who was told of a bird missing a leg! This bird will probably chose to stay for its lifetime…we'll see.
3
This young one was released three days ago by Helmut
who took care of a minor wing injury.
4
…an other very similar case. This young bird released yesterday.
5
This fellow was there last year. He will stay as he has lost most of his left wing.
6
Arrived three weeks ago, this patient will hopefully fly
in an other week or so… a more important wing injury.
7
A permanent resident, non reparable for wing injury,
got used to share its living quarters with the chickens.
8
This female will never fly anymore but a young fellow found her irresistible
and decided to stay with her. There are three eggs in the nest and "he is a
very good provider" says Helmut. He flies at will and brings her treats!
C&C welcome.
