Question- how many true backpacks can take a pair of 600mm f4 lenses and a couple of bodies and still fit in cabin lugguage on airlines?

I have just taken possession of a bag which will be available later in the year, it can take 2 large lenses up to 600mm and still have room available for other things.Its a true backpack ( ie. not a roller etc)so you can use whenever you want...I will put up a few quick snaps shortly but will be doing a full initial review in the review section and then a full review after i have lived with it for a while...
 
Should be interesting.

I couldn't get 1 600mm f4 on board so had to put all mine in the hold.
 
:lol:..I dread thinking about it. Im travelling a few times this year for wildlife and needed a bag which fits.I did a thread here a while back-think it was named " long lens bag" or something but that gave some aprox sizes , weights etc and since then i have been doing a search and contacting people and today i had a bag which promises it all but time will tell.

I will put up a couple of pics and see if you can spot anything unusual about the bag as it has a few great design features which arent spotted straight away.:thumbs:
 
Ok- i dont own 2x 600 AFS lenses so just use your imagination.:cuckoo:

Tamrac expedition 8x always goes on hand luggage with me (easyjet) fits body & 300/2.8 with hood out and loads of other stuff down the sides

Just as an add on to Drews post. I have the same bag and have had it on a BA flight with

500mm f4, 300mm f4, 20-200 f2.8 and 2 bodies. Plus cards batteries etc.
 
Is that a think Tank bag? I saw a guy with something similar recently and he had two 500 f4's and two Nikon D4's in it.
 
It looks like its got compression straps, bit like military bags, looks the part, be interested to hear what weight it is empty?
 
My Kibuku 30L will hold a 400mm f/2.8 w/ 1 hood in place (not reversed) and with a pro body attached in each side. Should be about + to a 600/4 w/ hood reversed.
Looks to be largely the same. Looks like LowePro to me.
 
The Gura Gear Kiboko and Bataflae were the bags i was seriously considering and they have a similar type of opening to allow pnly 1 side open if required to stop dirt/dust etc blowing onto the other lenses in your bag.

This bag also has the opening at the back and not the front, this allows you to take the bag off and drop it down without having to turn it over to open.Its also heps as a security measure with the zip so close to your body.:thumbs:
 
looks decent and nice bag,

question are the shoulder straps connected to the flaps rather than the bag itself? as if the zip ever buggers up then you can't carry it without all the stuff falling out?

A feature used on some angling rucksacks for some time. ;)

Is it a Manfrotto bag?

The zips are top of the range YKK zips so they are made to last and the bag has a good 3year no quibble garantee.

Not good. Most are around 10kgs allowance still. A few allow it as long as the size is ok and you can lift the bag into the overhead. Just need to pick which airline you use. With the 600f4, Singma 120-300 plus 2 bodies and a 1.4tc it weighs aprox 13kgs.
 
So what is is then? Mainly so I can google it, see it costs too much then close the window

Nope. Will do a review over the next few days on the bag. No point searching as it doesnt get released till Sept. there are internal straps which hold your equipment tight in the compartments so no real weight going on any one point of the bag itself and if the best YKK zips arent up to the job then few bags would be.
