Anyone claimed against VW for emmissions claims (as per PPI)?

Nope. Emissions version of ambulance chasing if you ask me. Ours has been fixed, made no difference whatsoever which is understandable due to the software issue it was fixing. People will hinge any future problem on something that’s not their fault (ie the ems software update), they’ll then...

    Take anywhere camera

I take a regular compact camera when I go snowboarding and have yet to have problems with water damage. But then, I've never dropped it. My biggest issues have been around battery life in the cold.

One of my staff has been offered a job at Venture

If she goes, keep in touch and when you are in a position to take her on she can leave and join you. She'll have her own terms of employment so it may be worth reading through them with her and making sure everything is above board. My only experience of venture is of them in shopping centres...

Anyone using instagram on iphone or ipad?

I've just started using it too, I'm @_mr_b I'm another fan of Hipstamatic, not the cheapest but good fun and some nice processing too. Need to do a search for more good apps though - might check out Big lens in a bit...

    I'm a Cornwall Virgin! Help!

Bedruthan Steps is nearby (and the National Trust centre at the top does a mean cream tea). Trevose Head has a lighthouse. While access to Mother Iveys bay is itself restricted (private beach) you can walk round the coast path and get a good shot of the lifeboat launching from across the bay...

Threat of legal action over charity calendar

I know that farmer told Rhianna to sling her hook the other day but that was land based permission and happening at the time. This is a horse (that as far as we know was not traumatised by the event) and a year down the line - I can't quite believe someone would do this so late in the day and...

The iPhone 4S’ Camera Is So Good It’s Almost Like Having A DSLR In Your Pocket

Obviously the Apple PR machine will have done their best to make the pictures amazing, it's their job after all. As for the 'SLR in your pocket' comment it's probably believable for most of the population, obviously it doesn't wash on TP but I wouldn't expect it to. I've got a 3GS and the...

    A rare moment

That's brilliant! You're right to be proud of that one, just caught at the right split second too.

What is the use of the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L?

I love this lens, I'd rather have the benefits of f2.8 as a lot of what I shoot is moving so IS is pretty much redundant and f4 can be too slow in those extreme conditions. The weight of it's never bothered me either. It's all 'tool for the job' stuff, if you find your 24-105 better for what...

    Horses in motion

Having been both behind and infront of the camera where horses are concerned here's a couple of tips: Keep your shutter speed up, the horse is moving after all. Dressage is all about composure and won't be very quick, if showjumping it'll be a composed canter so won't be really fast...

    Canon 7D & Canon EF 100-400mm L

Not used the 7D but have used the 100-400 on my 40D, it's a fabulous lens and if I had the cash I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

    Polarising filter

The only trouble you'll have with a circular filter is that light will change as you move and also the filter could spin as you change focus (depending on your lenses of course). I went on a safari last september/october (Kenya - Masai Mara / Amboselli / Lake Nakuru) and while I took a CP, I...

    Shots from Cornwall

These are good, although I'm not keen on the post production you've done. No.5 could have benefited from a slightly longer exposure (with and ND or ND grad filter) and that would have smoothed the sea out a bit.
