    old lenses

All Minolta Auto Focus lenses since 1985 will work on just about any Sony A-series DSLRS/DSLTs, I think there is one exception( a medical lens ) . Minolta lenses are pretty abundant and many are excellent quality even today. The older ones are metal bodied and very tough. That said, the...

Beginner Wanting to buy a new camera.

I would advise you to go for something digital - the immediacy of the results allows you to feedback improvements right away. Here is one of Sony's less popular models, which will probably be less than than £100 at the end. It is capable of good results, I used to have one. Other TP 'ers...

Dull images given a new perspective as B&W

It's easy to be an armchair composition critic, so you will probably find similar faults on most people's shots, including mine. Here we go: 1, Interesting sky, sink the boats. 2, I like this. I cloned out some telegraph poles and turned it round. I like this, and the clear space on the...

With second hand kit - does it matter where it was bought?

I buy quite a few s/h bits for my Sony cameras. Of course, I can source relatively inexpensive and high quality Minolta lenses, most of my lenses are Minolta. They can be nearly 30yr old. It wouldn't be realistic to expect any sort of provenance, I just want to see the current condition...

Easiest way to transfer SSD with Win 7 install to new PC?

If the NUC has a UEFI bios( I suspect it will have), then even getting Win 7 on to it will be a challenge. You might have to take the unpleasant option of trying to live with Windows 8 (I have:(). Watch out if it does, because it will mess up partitions on any existing discs you try to install.

Harrier Enclosure @ Cosford Airshow 2013

At risk of being drubbed, I am going to say I quite like it. The effect tends to enhance the camouflage. It would be nice if the grey ordnance could be lost and then just camouflage would remain. I think there is the germ of a good shot here.

    When Earth Began

Brilliant shot, loads of atmosphere. But, you should have got there a little earlier, before the ship's screw had disturbed the surface of the water and possibly PS out the house on the right hand bank.

    Male & Female Painted Buntings

Do they have a perch where they observe the feeder before coming in to feed? You might be better trying to capture them there, as they will probably not be moving around the feeder, and the setting might be more natural. Just a thought.

    My Neice

Nice niece.:) Good pose, well lit. I like the first better, the second is smoothed a little bit too much, sorry ladies, I do like to see a bit of texture in skin.
