The shed in Glen Etive is taking a beating, a shot a few posts back shows it now, this was it earlier this year, I think the winter will see it off. shed by taztastic12, on Flickr And one of the sun just gone down over Hardknott Pass Hardknott Pass by taztastic12, on Flickr

is the horizon straight i don't think they are

I too have struggled with this sort of thing in the past, it is difficult to get a straight horizon when the horizon doesn't follow one plane, as is this case here. Forget the horizon and correct the verticals instead, I had a quick play with your first two and it does the job nicely. Hope it...

    YN560 II and a D3100

Hmm, good advice above, learn how to use this one first. Once you find a good setting you will see good results, bring it to the next meet and we can laugh, I mean look at it, might be a good slave unit for me. Trees in the lakes starting to colour up nicely, hope they are in full splendour...

    Shed in Glen Etive

The bike is in a slightly different position in the earlier photos, it appears to have collapsed through decay, the rear wheel is buckled underneath it. A long way down Glen Etive, about a mile from the end, if you stop and walk through the woods towards the river there is an old bucket bridge...

Yes I can see it, also the car is not quite straight...... Great car at 18, the insurance though must make a 1Ds look cheap!!! Paul

    RNLI

I agree with Sammy, first thing that struck me was the "Aura" around the boat, and also agree with David, it needs power in the shot, movement. Good attempt though, just needs reigning back a little. Paul

    Frosty Graves

Really. wow, I know it was a clear blue sky, that's amazing, miffed now as I am stuck indoors nursing a poorly child.......oh and working!! of course. I could see, from my office window, right over Blackburn to the fells beyond, the air was crystal clear. Great shot and apologies for my...

    Frosty Graves

I am liking that, the only thing for me that detracts a little, is the number of trees, they seem to clutter the image a little and the blue filter doesn't quite meet the horizon? My Local civic society annual photography competition is centered around the graveyards in the town I believe...
