Hi Martin,
I was in Hull today and noticed a phone box still wearing those colours.
Thanks for the info, I subscribe to Photoplus so will have a root about for the dvd with that lesson on it. I usually just throw the dvds in a drawer !
IMO good use of the effect on these shots. I like how it defuses the impact of the modern doors and signage in the last shot. Was Hull the only place in the UK that didn't have red phone boxes?
I have some photos taken in the Morgan Car Factory Museum which I think would suit this treatment...
Chris, I had a look through your race gallery. Didn't find my son (#246) but found some good images. Thanks for the link. Think I will have to get acroos to that side of Yorkshire next september with my camera. Of course, before that we have 2 days of the the Tour on our door steps !
Enjoyed viewing your photos. My son did the event for the first time this year, usually does triathlons and time trials ratehr than cyclo-cross. Tells me the event is gruelling - I am happy to take his word for it - I wiil be sticking to tarmac riding.
Particularly like #2, for me it captures...
Hi,
I am planning to visit the Roger Albert Clark Rally. As some of the stages will be ran in the dark I thought I would have a go at some night photography. This is something new to me, having only used the flash indoors. I would appreciate some guidance on both camera and flash settings...
My first attempt at photographing my 10 week old Cocker Spaniel.
Any tips for improving my pet photography gratefully received.

I appreciate your feedback, perhaps you can help educate me further. I know next to nothing about photoshop, but I am slowing learning. I used the unsharped filter and accepted the default. From your comment I guess this was not the best thing to do! Any pointers would be appractiated.
Being overwhelmed after reading the manual I spent the day experimenting with different settings, some worked, others well less said the better. For picture 1 I used a Canon 24/105L lens at 105mm. The camera was in TV mode set at 1/125sec; f8.0; ISO 200; WB: Cloudy; metering mode: evaluative.

I guess you were the young bloke stood further along the back straight from me. I much prefer your angles of the Elan incident to mine.
What metering mode and focus points do you use for motorsport ?
