    Canon 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS USM - or not - help please

I took the plunge on the 100-400 last year before going on safari. It was the best decision I made. A great lens which I am never far from. It is a bit weighty though so maybe bear that in mind.

    Dumb and Dumber

Lovely pics. Just disappointed by the headline that it wasn;t in fact a picture of John Barnes and Jason McAteer both late of Tranmere Rovers Football Club!

    Sensor/Mirror Cleaning

The phrase "What was all the fuss about?" springs to mind. Lenspen sensorklear pro kit appears to have done the trick nicely with an absolute minimum of effort. Thanks everybody for their help and suggestions. Dave :)

    Sensor/Mirror Cleaning

Thanks for all your comments. I am actually seeing marks on the pictures when uploaded to my laptop. These take the form of a few spots and a smudge/smear. I guess I must have managed to mark the sensor itself too.

    Sensor/Mirror Cleaning

I have made a total hash of my own effort to clean the sensor of my Canon DSLR which has resulted in smearing of the mirror (don't ask!!). I've tried to resolve it myself but come to the conclusion I need to engage an expert. Can anyone reccomend anywhere to service the camera, preferably in...

Cheers Phil. Not that I want you to give away your secrets but what kind of exposure settings did you use and was it more that one ND grad?! This is the kind of info that would help us beginners out significantly! Dave

    A Complete Newbie :)

I recommend purchasing PhotoPlus Canon magazine. It's available monthly and has been an excellent source of inspiration to me in the 18 months or so it has been going. The PIP (photographers institute press) guide book for my model was also useful to me. I imagine there is one out for the...
