The Amazing Sony A7 / A9 / Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

The last two are taken with a Helio 44-2, the others either Sony 85 f/1,8 or 35 f/2.8

    Ha - can't un-see that now :)

The Amazing Sony A7 / A9 / Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Somewhat counter-intuitively, the lockdown has lead to me taking more photos. Mostly from the point of view that when we look back through our photos in later life, there'll be a 3-4 month gap of doing nothing - so made sure I take my R2 out with me most days. We're very lucky to live right by a...

70-200 options for Sony FE mount

I actually hired the f/4 ages ago for a holiday, and liked it, but did miss f/2.8, and this was in Canada where they have about the same amount of light as us.

70-200 options for Sony FE mount

I'd really like to complete my lens line-up with a 70-200 lens and there seem to actually be some options these days. I'm not a pro by any means, but tend to be the go-to photographer for any-and-all family events, as well as still enjoying shooting for myself. If it makes a difference, I use...

How safe would you feel out alone with your camera equipment ?

Conversely, when we stayed at a friends' in NYC, we felt more on-edge than anywhere else on our 10-month round the world trip. We're lucky to have travelled pretty extensively, and 9 times out of 10, I'm the typical tourist with camera on the outside, especially since getting a PD capture clip...

Peak Design - foray into the tripod and Kickstarter

Aren't most (all?) of PD's releases Kickstarters? Their bags and clips were. I've got their sling which I utterly love, and the capture clip is a great invention. This is going to sound very fan-boy, but I genuinely think they put a lot of thought into their designs, a proper analysis of what...

So it really is time to ditch Adobe

My main issue with potentially losing LR Classic is I have an A7R2, and RAW files are circa 85mb each. Even with a half-decent broadband connection, that's a weighty upload. The only thing I use the phone or web app for is culling and flagging - I find the editing in Classic much quicker, easier...

The Amazing Sony A7 / A9 / Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Long time since I've been here, but still snapping away! Some bluebell and other family portraits, mostly (entirely actually) with the 85mm f/1.8. Off to Morocco on Thursday so looking forward to that

Makes it tilt-shift-esque - i like it. Impressive bio-luminescence! Assume that's not SOOC?

An insane price - firmly putting it in the pro's only market, or at least the very well-heeled amateurs... I wonder if they'll do a 400mm f/5.6 to cater for lesser mortals? Pro's-only is a limited market for selling lenses.

Beginner A few from today's adventures

BUT, the big caveat here is no amount of GIMP will rescue these shots... Dull light, flat skies, and a little lack-lustre composition means these shots weren't ever going to be great. This isn't a real criticism of your technique, no one would shoot much interesting in such rubbish conditions...
